I get orange light on

Hello,

does this mean you don't get any display on the monitor?

If there is no display on your monitor, there are few things that could cause this:
  1. The VGA Cord
  2. System Memory
  3. VGA crad
  4. System processor, etc.
Check this components that I have mentioned and let me have a feedback.

Good luck.

What is the commonest problem with Dell optiplex

Most of the early Optiplex systems had poor ventilation fot their power supplies. Most of this was with their desktop Optiplex, and not their Tower models.

Its just stuck on the Dell screen at the begining energy starpage

if the system doesn't boot past the Dell Screen, the most likely issue is the hard drive.
See if you can bring up the F12 menu at boot and run HDD diags.
If you can't do that and have the dell resource cd, you can try booting to that CD, and run diags there

Optiplex 330 power button is orange

If you are getting no video at all, then we can use the diagnostic LEDs and the power LED to help determine the failure.

Solid Orange/Amber generally is a Motherboard failure. Remove all expansion cards and all external connections, see if anything changes. If not, replace motherboard. If you get a change, then add items back one at a time till you ID the Fault

I want activation code for vista

I sure love easy questions. This isnt really a question though. "I want" seems to indicate a DESIRE for an activation code. I also have a desire for 3 or 4 copies of Vista for my preschoolers computers. But I cant afford it. The solution though is to go buy it.
Sometimes you can find computers with the codes already on them. look on craigslist or ebay for junk computers with the codes. Sometimes you can find codes cheaper that way then actually shelling out the 140 bucks for a copy of Vista
