Keep getting 0x0000007b (0xf78d2524, 0xc0000034, 0x00000000,

So, where did you get the Windows XP drivers for the controller? Are you sure that they are XP compatible? Is the USB floppy even being recognized and read by the setup program? The Windows Setup program only supports a handful of USB drives for F6 driver installation method, that is explained here: A connected USB floppy disk drive does not work when you press F6 to install mass storage drivers during the Windows XP installation process Adding the standard Microsoft USB storage drivers to the txtsetup.oem file on the floppy diskette usually resolves this problem, see here: http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/server/sb/CS-026606.htm Adding the USB floppy's vendor ID should also fix the problem, see here for an example: http://blog.mreza.info/archive/2007/09/19/windows-f6-driver-and-usb-floppy.aspx None of my business but why not use Windows 7 on the new laptop, instead of going through all this trouble installing an operating system that is 10 years old and that is living on borrowed time?

Sounds like hardware failure. Could be the anyone of the many components inside of the computer. It's definitely not a software issue. My suggestion would be to take it to a tech or buy a new computer.

I bought a 3.5 External hard drive enclosure for a 1TB hard drive. The PC recognizes it but not under the removable drives

right click on "My Computer" and select "Manage". Then go to "disk management" once loaded you will see your drive. You probably have to initialize the drive and assign it a drive letter. all that can be done from right there.

Turn on only orange lihgt but won't boot up

A Blinking Amber or Yellow power button means that the power supply is receiving power from the source but is unable to properly distribute it to the components. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard. Just to make sure that nothing else is causing the problem, remove any PCI cards like modem, video card, sound card, etc... Remove the memory modules and disconnect cables to CD/DVD drives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged.

Admin Password (Not Set default) Displays the current status of your system setup programs password security feature and allows you to verify and assign a new admin password. The Admin Password may be disabled by a jumper on the system board.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Dell Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals and search them for Passwords.

Clearing Forgotten Passwords (the manual shows a picture of this)

1 Remove the computer cover.2 Locate the 2-pin password jumper (PSWD) on the system board. Bydefault, Pin1 and Pin2 should be connected. You will need to remove thejumper and boot the system, as follows.3 Remove the jumper.
