Dell OptiPlex 330 Desktop Desktop Computer - Page 8 Questions & Answers
In my dell desktop optiplex 330 hard disk is
Is it a BIOS password or a HDD password? If it's sewt in BIOS, you could try to reset the BIOS to factory default (which should remove any BIOS passwords) If however it is a HDD password, it is a bit different.. you may need to restore your sytem (low level, high level formats, then reload your OS sorry but you likely lose all your data..What OS do you use? there are programs that can possibly give you a boot cd depending on whether your system is fat32 or NT.. NT is more complicated because fat32 will not read NT BUT NT will read fat32.. IF you have the ability to restore your OS then first try to do a complete restore with backup.. that way you may be able to save most of your datafiles.. if you have never accessesd the pc then just try a destructive system restore (will low-level, then high-level format the HDD and reinstall your software without any SW passwords..
First thing I would try is to get into the BIOS and unset any passwords there.. If you need more help you can try to contact me

Network printer
First you ned to have a print server connected to your router for any network printer to work.
Also, you can set up printer sharing on a computer that the printer is plugged into. However this computer must always be on for you to print from any other remote computer.
Computer didn't start

AFTER SP3 installed network printer not working
You should go into Start>Printers and Faxes, write down the exact printers that you have (including server name or IP address) and then delete them by right-clicking on each printer and removing it. Once they're gone, add them back by using the Add Printer wizard or by browsing the network to find them and re-connect them. Since you specify that the network printers aren't working, I'm guessing that local (USB, parallel) printers still work properly. This would rule out the local print spooler, and since you didn't mention that everyone else can't print, it's probably not the print server either.
I have 2 optiplex 330 desktops and am trying to
there are jumpers on the unit sl is slave, cs is cable select, and ma is master, i recommned putting it on cs (cable-select) and using the middle connector for it, then goto the bios and confirm
Have two computers and have put both hard drives in the same towe
Let me get this straight, because the title got cut off:
You pulled a hard drive from one computer and put it into the other, and it is not being recognized.
Did you check the jumper settings on the drive? From the factory it was probably set to master. Reset the jumper to CS (cable select)
and try again.
My brand new dell optiplex 330 is not booting
I know everyone is not a tech, but, if you will take the cover off and while powered on, look at the large silver looking fins (heat sink) on what is known as the North Bridge chip ane use the BACK of your finger to move slowly and see if there is heat on it, and then the base of the CPU as well, if there is no heat, the motherboard is the likely culprit. I know it seems to be low tech, but it is how I derermined 2 Dell motherboards were bad and have replaced them both with sucess.
Also look at the back of the power supply for a small red switch, make sure the power setting matches your area ... 115V or 240V.
Last resort, look here.

I am not sure about how your wiring is in your home, but these newer systems require more stability with the electrical wiring and if there is a ground fault where you have the computer this would cause the problem you are having. Try another location and see if this changes, if not? try looking into replacing your power supply located on the back of your system. Good Luck

Dell OptiPlex 3020 Desktop computer startup problem?
What is the exact error that you are getting? Do you get any blue screens? Have you installed any software recently or made any changes? I can only suggest checking the power cables and trying to use a different cable or spare if you have any for now.
I have forgotten my bios password
Desktops PCs usually have a 'jumper' on the motherboard, inside of the PC, that resets the BIOS, removing the password but also changing some settings to their defaults. It takes some 'know how' but you can google it to help you locate it.

good news the not told at all PC screen is not dead.

1, No PC told no OS told xp to w11
2: fans spin? all do, psu ,cpu and gpu card if fan.
3: Optiplex is a desktop 29 years of models made wow.
4: you mean Dell Splash logo. yes, and then it does the post bar, if post bar stalls that means hardware gross errors.
sadly no PC model told of vast versions. wow.

I purchased this computer and need to download an operating system.
operating systems are available for your local pc support shops and retailers who sell computers
all you have to do is insert the disc into a player in the computer and it reads and programs the pc
the price is the same as on line but you have the added advantage of having a backup disk for future failures
