Right click on the desktop and select arrange icon by and click on show desktop icon.

Well, the Enter key is the one with the symbol of a left-pointing arrow with a short 'up bit' on the right-hand side of it. I think its to the right of the @ sign and on the same row. Incidentally the OTHER left-pointing arrow without the up bit on it is the backspace. Thats up above the Enter key also on the right-hand side of the keyboard. Regards, nicam49

To format the hard drive, you would remove the hard drive from the Asus EEE 900 and connect it to an other computer. Than you would format it from there.

First - re-seat the harddisk and reboot the computer. If the computer does not boot up then reboot andgo into the BIOS configuration to see if the BIOS detects the hard drive. If itdoesn't detect the hard drive then it could be faulty. Next - to check if the harddrive is faulty, remove the hard drive and insert it into an USB hard drive adapter and connect it to a workingcomputer's USB port. If this computer cannot see itas an external hard drive and you cannot open the various folders and files,this confirms the hard drive is faulty. Then the hard drive needsto be replaced in the computer/laptop, Windows installed and the computer orlaptop's device drivers plus your programs etc. to get a functioningcomputer/laptop again.

Probably it is because some system files imperative for proper start up of the computer have been corrupt. Firstly, try to press F8 when booting the computer. This will give you an option to choose a repair section of your computer. Choose to repair and the computer will try to solve the start-up problems of your laptop. If that fails, put the Original CD (Recovery CD) or the Operating Sytem that your computer uses, then boot the computer while pressig F2 or Del to enter into the system BIOS for you computer. Then in the system BIOS look for "booting order" or "boot sequence" then set the CD-ROM to be the first on the list. Then press F10 to save and exit the system BIOS. This will let the computer to boot from the CD and the CD will give youan option to repair the system from its files (located on the CD). When the Repair is done, remove the CD and try to boot your laptop normaly. This will solve you out of that...
If this one fails, then you have to use a CD called Error Rescue Disk (ERD) which contails alot of Diagnostic tools. Boot with the CD, let the CD finish to load. It has an interface like that of windows and you just go to "start" and go to administrative tools and you will be given a list of options on how you want to repair your compter. Obviously, you will need to choose start-up repair. This would help i guess

There is a hidden Administrator account that is created when your operating system is installed. Access that account and then reset your password.

1. Boot your computer and press F8 repeatedly
2. Access Safe Mode
3. Key in "Administrator" in Username, with no password.
4. Go to Control Panel, then User Accounts
5. Select the account you want to reset the password
6. Change the password

hi names rui. i happens sometimes so dont worry if you say that your cursor is still blinking it means its still processing information, causes of this is many application open at the sametime you alt+tab alot watching etc. it happens cause of the traffic of processing information... try w8ng for a little bit it will start back up again if it doesn't start you really need to restart to the beggining. so i suggest you save often so if it happens again your paper or important doc will be safe...

you should be able to upgrade the ram to 2G but it must be compatible. I usually choose Kingston Value Ram or Crucial ram after checking their compatibility list.

You will need to replace the screen, no fixing that. They run about $50 if you want to replace it yourself (There are how-to videos on YouTube) and are easily found with a Google or Ebay search.

your notebook needs service . Possible dust accumulation around the cooling core and fan.

sounds like your boot ini file is corrupt if you have os disc put it in and try and repair.otherwise you may have to reformat hard drive
