If the copies look fine it is the toner hopper. It does not remove the seal from the bottle when closed. If the copies are getting light it could be the developer unit has worn out bushings and gears thus it does not turn properly making it impossible to sense the toner level and the constant add toner message. Usually you can hear noise if this is the case. Look at the oriface where the toner drops into the photoconductor unit from the toner unit. Is it full of toner coming out the top? If so, time to replace the PCU.

uninstall the driver and then reinstall it again, maybe the installation is corrupted.

It's very easy to replace the drum unit. When you find Photoconductor unit there is a simple instruction on the box. You have to search for photoconductor unit type 1515 (also look for nashuatec, rex rotary, infotec or ricoh brands to see where you can find it on best price - 100EUR).
If your mashine is printing fine, there is no need to replace the drum. You can only reset PM counter display if mashine stops.

You need the Postscript driver.
But the question is: The machine already have the PS optional?
Because you will need it to use that driver. For that model it is optional.
Mac OS do not support the standard PCL driver

First of all you need to create a folder on the PC.
Then create users and specify the path for that folder.
To create user download the user manual. Is there everything you may need.

You can try to take out the PCU and Toner Unit (open the front door and right door to take Them out)
If you look inside (on the right side) you will see a little glass (that is the laser glass).
With a cloth slightly moist try to clean it.
That is the only thing you can clean (taking into account your descripcion).

first off you need to install smartdevice monitor for admin..via ricoh.co.uk downloads page..select your model (1515mf ricoh equivalent then you can set it up via your pc.open the device page then select your printer and open the tools bar there you will find the address book.. on teh edit tab you can then enter thename and email address of the person you require to set up..once you hav edone this back to tools and apply settings.. hope this helps.

this problem was not resolved as my problem did not relate to a gestetner machine but a Lexmark printer. At no time did I declare what machine I was using, and can only assume that the mix up occured when I was re connected after my first connection had ended prematurely.

The photoconductor has nothing to do with the toner. Photoconductor unit (Drum) is on a 45,000 copy cycle, and comes on when the count is reached. You don't have to replace the drum until the copy quality deteriorates. The machine will continue to work
