on top of the dryer unit is two thermal switches then go on and off with the temp {and dryer motor speed} so could be a bad dryer motor but if it does not heat up to dry then most machine have 'reset able' thermal switches ie most machines have two sets two can be reset for overheat and two are a fail safe so check all four switches to reset the reset able ones then press the little plastic post in the center of the switch otherwise with the thermal protectors you need to replace them after clearing the issue causing the dryer to massively overheat usually someone has just over loaded the drum and the drying heater has tripped the thermal cutouts and not the fail safes so press the centers of both the thermal cutouts and try again good luck and please post your results
