Gestetner DSC 232SP: I purchased this copier used
The white line or lines are NOT caused by the fuser. A defect "line" in the fuser would cause the symtom of the print rubbing off the page but not blank lines on your copy. First we need to separate your copy quality issues. This machine uses 4 drums, 4 developer units and a transfer belt. Most copy quality issues will reside in 1 or more of these units. Lets start with a few questions. 1)Are your copy quality issues ONLY on color copies? or are the black and whites poor too? 2) Are you running copies only thru the document feeder or have you made any copies from the glass?
Are you printing on the copier from your computer?

It's always a good idea to clean the drum and corona wire when changing toner cartridges. Sounds like a dirty drum is the culprit here and a thorough cleaning will return your copy quality back to where it belongs. It's also a good idea to gently shake the toner cartridges from side to side before installing them to ensure even distribution as toner tends to settle while being stored prior to it's initial installation.

Scanner Delivery server fails on my Gestetner dsc232
First, it doesn't work on Vista, if you have upgraded you OS??
So, have all of the destinations disappeared off the display?, and "updating destination list has failed' message displays" (or something similar).
If this is the case........ have you tried going into the "Scanrouter V2 admin utility", and under the "server" button select "set I/O device", then select "remove". If you are asked to "retain settings" select "no". Then click "add", then "Browse", it should find the machine, select "ok" then name it whatever you want -it's for identification only
This helps when (for some reason) the machine has become disasscociated with the Ip address for lack of a better description -particularily if the software is not installed on a machine with a statc IP.
OTHERWISE
Do the destinations still appear but the scans do not reach their destination even though they appear to be sent?
This happens when the Windows login password has been changed, because Scanrouter is linked to the admin password.
The way to tell is if you click to open the "Scanrouter V2 admin Utility", and get a message pertaining to a "wrong password" or similar. - Enter the NEW windows login password
OR
Has windows Firewall been enabled? TCP port #3670 needs to be opened

How would I identify faulty fault sensors in gestetner MP2501L copier and replace them?
You can't. As I said you need the service engineer with the laptop. These Office Machines are NOT consumer serviceable. They hook up the laptop with the Ricoh software and it interrogates the computer, the mainboard and everything on it. Am posting again. I stripped off gestetner MP2501L 8 times due to problem ' see instructions on right side to solve' but same. No paper inside. What is the actual problem.

Are you in the Philippines? I notice that your copier has changed from Ricoh to Gestetner? We are a North American website.
This is a commercial office machine, and from my experience of them is that on the right side you will see on the inside, a list of instructions for where to check for obstructions. It seems you have already done this 8 times! Frustrating! Try this;
Open the right side cover, unlatch all the bits at that side.
Open the straight pass door on the left side.
remove ALL the paper drawers.
Get a powerful flashlight, look in all the spaces you have just created, especially at the edges of drawers and paper pathways. You are looking for a tiny piece of paper that one of your employees carelessly left behind after a paper jam.The one I found was right at the back of the straight pass door. When a sensor is covered, it creates that message.
If that fails, Ricoh will have to come and attach their Laptop scan software to it which will tell which sensor is obstructed or has failed.

Hi Hope this helps.The metal gauze filter (see image) behind the input nipple on the drum unit may become blocked with congealed ink deposits causing the ink not to feed at full flow.Strip and clean the blocked gauze filter in the Ink Supply System.
