What is my new battery terminal sparking when I try to connect the last cable?

This sounds like it is trying to "Short Out". Turn off all the power to the chair and re-check your battery connections. A "Short" is where the electricity is trying to flow the Wrong way around the circuit. This will badly Damage you batteries if you keep trying to connect them. When connecting batteries together you ALWAYS connect a Positive (+) to a Negative (-). NEVER Positive to Positive or Negative to Negative. Start at the Negative wire, connect it to the Negative terminal on the first battery, (Battery One). Then on Battery One connect the Positive terminal to the Negative terminal on Battery Two. You now connect the chair's Positive cable to the Positive terminal on Battery Two. You should get NO sparks. Carefully turn on the chair's power. The batteries should NOT spark and should NOT get hot quickly. **CAUTION** If it does spark or get hot quickly after you have done this TURN EVERYTHING OFF and disconnect the negative cable. This means there is a problem somewhere else in the chairs electrics.

Problem with joystick on Jazzy 1103 ultra

You will need to take it in for repair. 8 bar flash usually means you have a bad joystick/controller. They can sometimes send it in to the manufacturer to have it repaired. Find a reputable dealer and relay this info to them.

Hi when i charge my powered weelchair should be

When you charge your power wheelchair the power chair should be off. First of all, the charger will charge the chair without the power chair being on, since the charger works independently from the chair electronics. The chair electronics when they are on will drain a small amount of power and theoretically the batteries will take longer to charge.
Also, as with any electronic device or appliance it should be shut off when not in use for safety, longevity of the components, and conservation. There is no danger of the chair being driven off while the charger is plugged in because all power chairs have a built in safety feature disabling the chair when it is being charged. Hope this helps.

Battery is hot, chair won't move

A warm battery after charging is not unusual but a hot battery is probably bad news. It could be the battery has reached the end of the road through advancing age and natural deterioration. The best sealed lead-acid batteries, if that is the type fitted, is rated to have the capability of about 500 charge/discharge cycles but this is subject to a lot of variables including the type and duration of charging and the temperatures reached, the ambient operating temperature and the applied loads. It could be a faulty "intelligent" battery charger has run riot and overcharged the battery and caused it to overheat. If the battery is of advancing age and living on borrowed time it would be as well to replace it but certainly the charging unit should also be checked and possibly replaced.

How long can i run chair on one charge'

With new, fully charged batteries, you can get a good 8 miles at full speed with a normal weight load on the chair. The chair goes about 4-5 mph, so an hour and a half or more at full speed on level terrain. Be sure to always recharge daily, keep the chair on the charger when not in use(batteries will die if you don't)and avoid running the batteries all the way down....try to stay in the top 2/3 charge range and you will get more life.

I have a Jazzy 1103

It could be a few things.
It might be on freewheel. To solve this: 1. Turn the chair off. 2. Locate the freewheel lever just behind the drive wheel, and on top of the motor. 3. Push the lever inward to engage the motors. 4. Repeat steps 1 and 2 for the other side. 5. Turn the chair on and see if it works .
If not, it the circuit breaker might need to be reset because of heavy strain on the motors and batteries. To solve this: 1. Turn the chair off. 2. Find the circuit breaker on the front of the case, off to the right side (you will see a hole in the case) 3. Press the circuit breaker button. 4. Turn the chair on and see if it works.
if not, the battery may need to be disconnected and reconnected To do this 1. Turn the chair off 2. Release the friction lock lever under the seat. 3. Remove the seat. 4. Release the rear shroud fastener and the yellow fastener under the front shroud. 5. Remove the shroud. 6. Disconnect and reconnect the battery connector (the big plug) 7. Replace the shroud and seat. 8. Turn the chair on and see if it works.
If not, contact your provider.

I bought the new style

Deborah,
The most common problem for this power chair involves the connections at the rear of the chair for the VSI controller (joystick). Unplug the large and small electrical connectors at the rear of the chair and inspect for discolored and corroded pins on the plugs. You can clean the flat pins on the large connector with a green synthetic scour pad and WD40. Spray contact electrical contact cleaner on the other pins and plugs.
Check the voltmeter on the back to make sure it is indicating charging. If not, remove the the rear cover and look for a black boot over a fuse holder. Inspect the fuse (7.5 amp ATO) to see if it is good. The on-board chargers on these chairs have a history of going bad, but are easy to replace. That being said, if you have good battery connections, good charger fuse, good cord connections, good voltage meter, then your most likely culprit is your on-board charger. The least expensive and easiest fix is to buy an off board charger and plug it in the front of the VSI (leave the old on-board one in the chair and don't plug in the AC cord).
Check the battery connections to make sure they are tight. Check the charger cord and make sure it is plugged all the way in.
If you have access to a voltmeter you can make electrical checks on all components. For now, I would check the obvious visually and mechanically. The connectors on the rear of the chair coming from the VSI are usually the source of most problems. Hope this helps.

My Jazzy has been diognosed by an autherized deale

Probably not, the controllers are usually made especially for the manufacturer and you cannot find them elsewhere unless a shady repair technician is selling used models underground somewhere. Hoveround controllers cost upwards of $1200.00, so that is not too bad. If your insurance company bought the power chair for you, they may cover the cost of the repair, at least partially. If you got the power chair second hand, repairs are COD.
Good luck!

Jazzy 610 got wet. controller lights blink

Electricity and water don't mix. Allow the controller to dry out for several days. Even if it looks dry, water may have collected inside and fried something.
The number of lights that are blinking indicate what the problem is. Visit this site to locate the type on controller on your power chair and you will be able to see that the blinking lights mean:

Try to reset your manual brake release as this is a common problem.
If you continue to have a problem, contact your manufacturer or dealer for service. If your insurance purchased they power chair for you, they may also cover the cost of repairs.
Good luck!
