Amazon Kindle Fire HD 8.9" - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
App store
What app store did u have and got now so I can help you
It won't turn on all it says on the screen is kindle fire nothing else
Maybe the Kindle is frozen on that screen. The Kindle HDX User Guide suggests a hard reset by holding down the power button for 20 seconds before releasing it. That should shut the Kindle down. Be sure to not have the Kindle on a charger or hooked up to a USB cable during the hard reset. Next restart the Kindle. If that fails then charge the Kindle as you would normally do and when done detach the charger and USB cable and try another hard reset. If all fails go to www.amazon.com/kindlesupport.
Unable to start (turn on) Kindle Fire 8.9 HD
Try plugging in charging cord and see if device powers on while connected to mains power if so and it doesn't start off mains it's your battery. If it doesn't turn on with regular charger try another charger with same connector to be sure it is not your charger that is faulty. Failing all of this, and you are handy, you can search for battery part number on net buy one from China and install yourself. PLEASE ONLY IF YOU ARE COMPETENT DO YOU TRY FIXING ELECTRICAL PARTS YOURSELF. Alternatively it is probably easier to buy a new ereader.
A newer os on my hd fire8.9
Go to the product support site, if any updates are available they will be listed there by model number of device.
How do I delete hundreds of emails from my mailbox?
I don't have a kindle but I think it would be the same as on a pc, either select the emails you want to get reid of and then select delete from the header bar or simply press the delete key on the key board layout of the kindle. Note that it may be better to delete in batches to make sure you do not delete any that you may want to keep. Hope this helps
My Kindle Fire hdx 8.9 turn on. I pressed button for 40 seconds but it did not work.
Most Kindles only take a brief touch of the on/off button Have you tried charging it? Try plugging it in for a few minutes and then try to turn on. If it works while plugged in then leave it to fully charge. If it fails to hold the charge then take it with you to a place like Best Buy or Batteries Plus. That's the quickest way to get anew battery and be sure it's the right one. I'm sure either one of those could test the old battery before you buy a new one. You could also order one from Amazon.
I've had my Paperwhite for about 6 years, charged at least once a month and still haven't changed the battery.
What is my amazon account
If you don't know what your amazon account is, you may not have one yet.
If you do have an existing Amazon account, the user name is likely to be an email address (at least at present). You can try entering your email address and possible passwords, or go through the procedure of resetting your password.
Good luck.
