How do I transfer a book from my computer to my kindle

If you purchased or received the books from Amazon, you should be able to find the title on the device and download. You can usually connect your kindle to your computer using usb charging cable. I believe you can drag files over similar to the way you would do with most other storage devices. You can also email content to your device. To determine the email address to send to:
  1. go to amazon.com, sign in.
  2. Under "Your Account" in the upper-right navigation bar, find and click on "Manage Your Content and Devices"
  3. Click on the "Devices" tab
  4. Find your device in the carousel and click on it
  5. Below the carousel, the device information will be displayed, one of the fields is "Email:"
You can try to send your content to the device by sending an email with the content attached to the email address found in the email field. Also reference Send Documents and Web Pages to Your Fire Tablet Kindle Reader or Kindle... on the Amazon website. Good luck.

Lost all information for my kindle and I no,longer have the same email address

Log onto Amazon.com Look for Your Account and place cursor on it. From the list about half way down click Manage Content and Devices. Click the middle heading Your Devices. This will show info on your kindle. To update email/password...on first page of Amazon.com just under the search bar you will see help. Click that and then click Change Account Settings. The password is hidden with ***. I'm not sure if you can just change that or not. If you need more help. One of the help topics is Device Support. Click that and you will see Contact us bottom of left column. click that and fill in info. Choose call back and leave number and best time to call. They should call you back no later than next day depending on time you sent in request. Best part it's free.

I have played1879 freecell games, now it is very slow and sluggish.

It is probably nothing at all to do with the freecell game. Any computer that is used and has software loaded, deleted, files opened and closed and moved about and suchlike soon begins to clog up with rubbish, temporay files and suchlike. This becomes so much worse when the internet is used, plus the increased possibility of getting invaded by malware, viruses and suchlike. A laptop or desktop with a big hard drive can cope for longer but will inevitably eventually need some housework doing to clean up and reorganise things. Smaller low-powered, low capacity machines are less tolerant. It is like comparing a big office and a small office - smaller offices have to be kept tidy and organised or they soon become inefficient. It was originally thought Android devices would be immune from attacks and the maladies the bigger cousins suffered from but this has proved to be untrue and programme availability to help keep them clean and tidy and to protect them from attack is increasing. I guess it is time you did some housework in your machine.

I cannot get my reader to turn on at all and it is fully charged. Can you give me an idea as to what is wrong with it? I have had it a couple of years and read all the time.

Did you update the recent patch? almost all generations of kindle needed a patch update. The latest software update for Kindle Paperwhite (6th Generation) is 5.7.3. This update automatically downloads and installs on your Kindle Paperwhite when connected wirelessly; however, you can also manually download the software and transfer the update to your device via USB cable. https://www.amazon.ca/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201307450 Try cold reboot at a last resort. If you want to unfreeze your Kindle or restore the factory defaults, do the following: 1. Hold the power switch to the right for 20 seconds. 2. Press the HOME button for 1 minute. Eventually you will see the screen to your right. 3. Nine times out of ten just hitting the DEL button at this point will unfreeze your machine without having to lose all your files (please note, you can replace them later but it takes time and you will lose your notes, bookmarks, and settings). 4. If that doesn't work you will have to restore the factory default settings by typing in R E S E T. As soon as you hit the T it will reset. That's it. Please note that this is for the Kindle 3G + wifi 6 inch version.

Froze on a page

Many issues with your Kindle, such as a frozen screen or issues with downloading content, can be solved by restarting your device. Help for Kindle Paperwhite (5th Generation). Press and hold the Power button for seven seconds until the Power dialogue box appears, and then tap Restart. Note: If the Power dialogue box doesn't appear, press and hold the Power button for a full 40 seconds until your device restarts.

Can not connect to Wi-Fi

Do you mean for the Amazon Kindle store? Provided your wi-fi signal is good, which you can check by trying it with a smartphone etc, the Paperwhite should connect itself to Amazon automatically when in range. If not, try these things - verify the Pw (Paperwhite) is registered properly (ie Amazon knows it) http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201235720 - check your network is listed already on the Pw http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html/ref=help_search_1-1?ie=UTF8&nodeId=201241790&qid=1457135457&sr=1-1 - generally speaking http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=201852540 If you are talking about wi-fi and using the Pw internet brower, forget that, it is not worth the effort, the Pw browser is such a non-intuitive dog of a thing. .
