Try this it helped me:
Go to Registry Editor:
Click START>RUN>type "REGEDIT"
Add following DWORD Values:
'HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main"
Add New DWORD Value called "RunOnceHasShown" and set the value to "1"
and
another DWORD Value called "RunOnceComplete" and set the value to "1"
Restart the Internet Explorer and it should be fine.

After booting up my computer in the morning and opening Internet Explorer, IE locks up and comes up with the following error message box: ''Internet Explorer has encountered a problem with an add-on and needs to close. The following add-on was running when this problem occurred: Add-Ons name: FSlEEdit.dll Company name: Gaurdware LTD. Description: ISIEEDIT module.
Try going into your control panel & uninstall your Internet explorer, then re-install it. IE7 uninstall can be found in the main add-remove program window, IE6 uninstall can be found under the add-remove windows components part of the add-remove programs. To re-install IE7, though, you need to go to windows update to download IE7 again. This won't be a problem because uninstalling IE7 automaticaly returns you to IE6

the nice thing about IE7 is that it has a nice easy way to fix alot of problems.
click on tools, internet properties, advanced and then click the last button on the page, the one about resetting to defaults..any bad or bogus addons become disabled and any bunged up security settings go to their defaults.
after this, you'll have to re-enter your homepage and install addons like flash player and java, but that generally solves any issues you might be happening. what is the website? it could not be a problem on your end but some bad code in their site.

I had IE6 which worked fine. I upgraded to IE7 with no problems but when I click on IE7, a screen flashes briefly like it is going to start and then it goes away. I've uninstalled all toolbars (such as Google). I've also monitored Event Viewer but it doesn't post any entries when I try to start IE7.
Hi,
This usually happens after installation.
1. Click START–>RUN and type cmd
2. At the prompt, type cd and press ENTER
3. Type cd Program Files and press ENTER
4. Type cd Internet Explorer and press ENTER
5. Type regsvr32 IEPROXY.DLL
6. You should get a confirmation that the
IEPROXY.DLL has been registered. You can then close all windows and try
Internet Explorer again.
If these steps don’t solve the problem, try
Launching IE with add-ons disabled:
1. Click START–>RUN
2. Type iexplore -extoff
You can also create a shortcut so that you can always run Internet Explorer this way.
1. Right-click on the Desktop
2. New–>Shortcut
3. Enter in iexplore -extoff
Hope this helps

I have had different users not be able to load webpages in Internet Explorer due to the setting "use a proxy server for your lan (These settings will not apply to dial-up or vpn connections)" being enabled under the connection tab in Tools, Internet Options.
I can have people go in and uncheck the box easy enough, but I haven't come across what causes it (it's usually occurring on a Windows Active Directory domain).
Does anyone have any advice on what causes it?
Thanks
I assume you find this in Tools, Internet Options, Connections, LAN. This proxy server setting is only used when you are working through a network at a school or company. You need to have the checkmark next to "automatically detect settings" if you work through most broadband connections like cable or DSL.
Now, if you have the "automatic" checked and the Proxy check appears anyway, this must mean that you have some program that is trying to connect to some network or call home somehow. This could be a virus. Do you have a good AV program? Be careful because many of the websites that say they want to check your system are actually virus downloaders.
