Hi, have you tried to recalibrate the screen as in your instructions?
Make sure you have no game inserted
Press and hold down the 'on' button and 'hint' button (with questionmark on it) at same time until a menu appears on screen
Press A
Now touch all the little crosses with your pen that appear on the screen
switch leapster off and restart
if still not working, repeat above

take the batteries out and then put them back in, it should probably reset Have you contacted the number/website, on the toy itself? Call the company and give them the model number..etc. and they should be able to help..Good luck!

Have you tried putting new batteries? If yes and still has no sound then look for the warranty and bring it back to the store where you bought it so they can repair it for free.

• Well, with the unit facing you, you will pull the game unit towards you a bit while keeping a hand on the charger. This charger has little hooks at the top and the connectors at the base are spring loaded. This is so the unit clicks in place and stays put while charging. Pull the unit back a bit and then pull it up (from the top side of the game) and out.

2. When the sign-in screen appears, press these buttons all at the same time:
a. Home Button
b. D-pad right arrow button
c. B Button
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

My little brother has one, and it had the same problem...

My best suggestion is contacting the factory and ordering a replacement screen.

If this doesn't work, get a refund (unless the toy is really old and can't be returned).

Gotta hate the cheap **** they sell nowadays...

I am having the same issue. Devasted child as birthday gift won't work. After you choose name the screen goes blank. Please help:(

How did you try recaibrating? I just fixed my son's Leapster 2 a few minutes ago. I read a couple different recalibration instructions and the one that works for the Leapster 2 is:
1-Hold down the (?) Hint button while turning on the system.
2-Keep holding it down until the Leapster menu shows up
3-Let it go and press the A button
4-Touch each crosshairs x with the pen tip
5-When it goes back to the menu screen, restart the unit

Is it new or aftermarket?

You can try calibrating the stylus pen. Hope this works :) Here are step by step instructions straight from the Leapster2 website:

If your Leapster2 does not respond to the stylus pen, it needs to be calibrated. Calibrating the Leapster2 is easy:

1) Ensure that a game cartridge is not inserted in the Leapster2

2) Hold down the Hint (?) button while turning the unit on. Continue to hold the Hint button down until the LEAPSTER2 menu appears. Remember that you need to hold the "Hint" button down the whole time while you are pressing the power button, and releasing it.




3) The LEAPSTER2 menu will show the options Base Info, Cart1 Info, Cart2 Info, Cart3 Info, and Touch Calib. If you do not see this menu after powering on the Leapster2, turn the Leapster2 off and repeat steps 1 & 2 until you see the menu.






4) When the LEAPSTER2 menu screen appears, press the A button on your handheld.

5) Using the stylus pen, touch each of the crosshairs that appear

6) Restart unit

You need to calibrate the touch screen - hold down the ? button and a menu will come up, go to 'touch/calibrate'-red dots will appear on the screen in the corners then in the middle and you have to touch the centre of them with the pen to line up the screen again - turn off and again and it should be fine - hope this helps xx
