Tip & How-To about Fisher and Paykel GWL11 Top Load Washer

What to do when Fischer and Paykel washing machines don't finish spin cycle!

...............Stops at the spin cycle....................
Firstly turn the power off and remove the plug from the wall. (always do this when working on any electrical equipment)
Turn off the water supply lines, mark the hot before removing. Note: There is a H on the back of the washing machine to identify where they go back on.
Remove the inlet hoses Note: they have a washer don't loose it!
Turn the washing machine on its side so you can see the water pump underneath it.
Remove the water pump and clear it if its obstructed. There is a white clip that locks it in place and you turn the pump to remove it. loosen the screws if it is tight. Ensure where the pump is mounted is clear.
Check the outlet hose while your there to see if thats blocked. It is unusual but does happen.
Put it all back together and see if that solves the issue.
.....................Didnt solve it?.......... still stops at spin cycle?
Make sure the washing machine is turned off. remove the plug!
Look into the machine, remove the plastic top from the center spindel, underneath there is a long tube, down the bottom is a butterfly type screw. unscrew this. lift the center spindle up and remove it. You can now see into the bottom of the bowl around the edge, down to where the pump is. sometimes socks, knickers and fine material find there way under the plastic spindle and down into the galleries in the bottom there.
There they wrap around the bowl shaft and stop it from turning freely!
You see this occour when it tries to spin at the spin cycle but just stops. Before it goes into the spin cycle the motor spins the bowl but it must move freely and turn at least 1 full turn easily. If it doesn't, that old sock is down there. Use a torch and look down the bowl edges to see if something is there. If you get lucky you can see the edge of it!
If its there use a small hook to carefully remove it! Just use a metal coat hanger as a hook.
Put it all back together and away it goes!
Solves that age old mystery!
Where did my other sock go?

1)when cycle reaches final spin cycle (about 10 minutes remaining) it will attempt to spin for a few seconds and then stops. It displays no Code Symbol, it shows the remaining 10 minutes. 2)Remove all laundry from the basket and set for Spin cycle only and it works fine. 3) Replace even 1 soggy towel and again try the spin cycle and it goes back to #1 above. Machine is 6.5 years old.

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
Sorry but this is always where I start with funny problems like this and so many times it has cured problems ;-0)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry but I do not know your particular machine BUT I would suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters. The motor is unable to drain all of the water in the allotted time.
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and held in by a round cover/knob.

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!

It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. If it doesn't work then the motor is malfunctioning!

Hope the filter is the problem and good luck!

Stops drains and bleeps with only spin light illuminated

It sounds like you need to re programme the
machine.
With the machine plugged into the wall and
turned on and the headset turned off this is what
you do.
Push and hold down the start button, while doing that you need to then push and hold down the power button.
Hold them down for about 5 seconds, during
which time you may a series of up to 3 beeps.
Then release the buttons.
Turn the machine off and then on again followed by the start button. Allow the machine to then run the complete cycle.
This should correct your problem, if this doesn't then you may need to then look at replacing the computer panels.

does not drain error code f2

There is a block in your pump, you have to locate it, dismantle it & remove the block. Plug off the wall first.

Bosch WFL 2860 Stops Part Way through Its Cycle

When a machine stops during its rinse period, it is normally a block in your outlet filter. And you say it has not been maintained in any way for 5 years; at least you shd be doing the minimum maintainance like clearing your outlet filter.

Front bottom right, is where access to the filter normally is; get to it and clean out, plug off the wall first. The large plastic is to be turned anti-clockwise to remove, refit carefully after cleaning.
