Kitchenaid Refrigerator Door won't close all the way.

Other than replacing the seal, you don't have many options. Theres two things you might want to try. First check the door alignment, make sure the gap is equal all around the door, Make sure a hinge hasn't moved. If it's just the seal being bent out of shape, you could try heating it with a hair dryer. Just run the dryer back and forth over the deformed area until the gasket/seal is soft, then close the door and hold it firmly in place while the seal cools. . . It may help. Good luck to you!

Check to be sure the frig is sitting level. You should have leveling adjustment on each side below the doors and behind the grille. Also, on the bottom door hinge (usually fridge side) should be an adjustment to raise or lower the door to align the doors. After that if you simply have a deformed seal you can try carefully heating the seal with a hair dryer to soften it and should smooth out the wrinkles. Be careful not to over heat the seal. Check there are no small vegetables stuck in the seal. Crazy, I know, but it's amazing the places frozen peas can end up.

If there's nothing caught in the seal, perhaps the seal has deformed. How did you do the defrosting? Sometimes people use knives and damage parts of their freezer. Some people use boiling water, which can cause damage to seals. If the seal has become deformed, you will most likely need a new seal.

It might also be worth checking the door hinges; if the door isn't flush with the opening, the seal won't seal properly. Defrosting shouldn't cause any problems with the door, but sometimes accidents happen.

It could be a bad seal or the door could be sprung without seeing it it is hard to tell. Check the hinges make sure door is properly attached. If it appears to be sprung try pulling on the top of door and pushing on bottom to spring it back into place.... Just not too hard.
