You can upload through a firewire or if you have RCA jack inputs it can be done. I have the manual for this model.

Have check your cassette for some crumpled or damage, if it's is ok, I'm afraid this problem cannot be solve by yourself, there is a problem on the tape transport for sure and it needs skill and instrument, have it check to the expert.

How do i get moving images from my GR-D290 to my PC? I can watch them on my camcorder but would like to get them loaded to my PC so that I put them on a DVD. And so that I can record new events

Use Firewire cable connected to firewire port of Your computer. Even Windows movie maker can capture images from any DV camcorder. After capture it´s easy to burn DVD with any burning software. For more questions email me.

I am having the same problem PLEASE help!!!

ditch the usb cable and use the firewire. If Vista correctly detects AVC-compliant devices (pretty much EVERY firewire-equipped camcorder on the market!) it should "just work"

how r u connecting ur camera to pc , u have laptop or desktop tell me the specs does it have firewire 1394 port or not

ur camera supports Web-Camera function via IEEE1394cable u need firewire port in laptop for connection usb wont work here pls get a firewire 400 cable and then connect ur camera and select web cam mode from menu and then try to connect in skype it will work

pls check the connection and let me know whats missing

if you are using a desktop, you require a an addon card called IEEE 1394 firewire card, which you have to install it on your motherboard's PCI slot, then using the firewire cable which you get along with the card should be connected to the card and DV port of the camera, then using the MOVIE MAKER software of windows XP, you can download the video.

JVC gr-d270 driver

Hi guys,
I have a JVC gr-d270. the CD came along with it is useless. my computer cannot detect the video cam hrough USB. I have to transfer my videos to my computer. Can anybody help me with the driver atleast. Im using windowsXP sp 2.

Hi, Since videos are taped in DV format, you need a firewire card (IEEE-1394) and cable. These are cheap. May be your PC already has a firewire card. Just check. Windows XP recognises automatically the camcorder. Moreover, its integrated video capture/editing module, Windows Movie Maker, is very userfriendly. For the JVC GR-D290uAfter scratching my head & trying various things this is what worked:Power up the cam & connect w/ usb cable to your PC. switch it to 'play', open the door and switch to 'memory'. At that point my PC recognized a device was attached instantly and began installing the driver which I suspect is on the cam. I did try to install drivers & software from the CD and from this site (mentioned by another contributor, thanks) but they did not get windows to recognize the hardware at all.http://www.jvc.ca/www/Support/Downloads.aspxbtw - to open the cassette door:button bottom must be held in the eject position and at the same time slide the plastic part of the bottom plate away from that button. Voila.
