Hi Grandma! I think you were misled and was given a wrong information.
Your concern is about your subscription of your Norton Antivirus that failed to update despite paying fully the subscription fee. I assumed you have downloaded the updated software but this software after installing still prompts you to "update Norton cause its about to expire". Ma'am, did you actually installed in your pc the new program they sent to you when you paid them. You may have forgot to do this that's why Norton still prompts you to update.
And, I just want to inform you that we, here at Fixya have no direct connection with the Norton. Your problem regarding your subscription with their products must be addressed directly to their Support Team to help you at the best they can. We here at Fixya, will try to help you fix your problem to the best we can and if the problem is beyond our expertise we will try to direct you to the one that will help you with your problem.
I am sorry but Ma'am that is the true information
Norton Call Toll Free 0-808-101-9218. this is norton support number.
Hi,
The usual issue about the expired message on norton is:
check the time and date on the computer
or, the product is not up to date
you can uninstall and reinstall the product again if it is renewed:
Download Norton uninstaller from here:
www.norton.com/nrt
2. THen download the installer from, here:
www.norton.com/n360s_4
3. then run liveupdate to get the latest updates
4. then run quick scan
Cheers!!
Your Norton that you bought in 2005 has expired.
Normally, the anti virus protection, you buy, will have an expiration of 1 year or 2 years. It will only have more, if you have purchased the license for more. If not, that is why your Norton is out ot date. Expired 2006!!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND NORTON Some useful information below. Hope it helps.
SPEAKING WITH MY EXPERIENCE TRY SOMETHING ELSE.
FREE SPYWARE Download Spybot Search & Destroy. Restart computer, then run Spybot to see what spyware comes up, AND DELET IT.
FYI---Virus Protection-- 2 programs of virus protection will conflict with each other and will actually cancel out the protection. SO just download one.
Running Spybot Search & Destroy with EITHER Avast or Avg (great Free virus protection programs ) will keep a computer in good working condition. FREE
There are alot of $ anti-virus and Internet security programs out there, ie: Norton, McAfee, Panda, Bitdefender. If you would like to pay $ then get ***Kaspersky***-- 2010 , I feel that is the best for your money.
REMEMBER TO KEEP UP THE DAILY MAINTENANCE ON ALL OF YOUR COMPUTERS.!
Good Luck. If you find this information helpful , please rate me. Thanks :0)
U can update via net. Connect ur PC to the net and click the update button in the nero page ... It'll get updated without keys. Else uninstall ur nero and install a fresh nero from the net . they will provide keys.
Email Norton and tell them your situation, they will tell you what to do to fix the problem seems like a problem that's more there doing than yours. Or
Start your Norton product.
Do one of the following depending on your Norton product:
For Norton 360: Click My Account, and in the My Account window, click Renew Subscription.
For Norton 2009 products: At the top right corner of the window, click Help & Support > Subscription Status. Skip to Step 6.
For Norton 2008 products: In the bottom-left corner, click Subscription.
For Norton 2007 products: On the product tab, click Support, and then click Subscription.
For Norton 2006 products: On the Help & Support menu, click Subscription.
Click I have already purchased a subscription, check my subscription status.
Click Next.
Click Next.
Your Norton product checks your subscription status. This could take a minute or two.
Read the information in the Status check panel, and then click Finish.
Your subscription expiration date should now be correct.
If this helps you out, feel free to leave positive feedback. Thanks for stopping at Fixya !
Most of the Norton antivirus comes with one year subscription. date u mentioned here seems like more then 1 year old. That's why it says expired
If you dont want to spend any more money on antivirus then uninstall this one and download AVG from this site. this is really good antivirus for free and good for ever.

In my experience Norton can become flakey at times. Make sure your subscription to norton has not expired. Otherwise try un-installing norton and re-installing it. Part of it may have become corrupted.
Chances are, the software that is already in your computer will be able to connect to its website and after entering an authorization code provided to you when you ordered it, the software should update itself. Otherwise, contact Norton's website directly.
