I have the same problem and I had my phone completely torn apart today. When I put it back together it worked for a little bit. The speaker is mounted in the external case (with the numbers on it) but it contacts the PCB via these little copper arms. Well the arms punctured the copper contacts on the circuit and I think that is causing it to fail. It was a very long process to take the phone apart and I don't recommend it unless you're skilled (I'm an Electronics Technician and it was annoying as heck). I think if I find the time to get back in there, I can resurface the contacts with solder and it will make connection again. Overall, its a terrible design flaw. All the sophisticated technology that goes into a 3G phone and then something as dumb as a 2 cent copper contact goes bad? That is just sad really.
Yeah, I had the same problem. There isnt really a fix, but when you unplug the jack, make sure the speakers work, by turning on speakerphone (The little speaker symbol will appear) or try calling someone. If it isnt working just wiggle the jack in the port a little bit and try plugging and unplugging it. I just think the port gets stuck or something so it thinks that the jack is still in there when it isnt, thus leading to the speakers not working. This is a really annoying problem. Pretty poor design, but an easy enough fix I suppose.
did you change your earpiece setting on the my settings menu, it's under Sound settings. you can change it to low to high. And when you answer the phone, you traditionally answer it the portrait way?
