To change the region code on the UV8 you must have a dvd playing and 1. with the remote press setup 2. then enter 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. This gives you access to firmware menu. 3. arrow down to tools "system settings" (you should be able to use the touchscreen) enter on region a menu opens and select "0" to make it region free. You can also go down to the brake bypass menu here to to put in "off" mode so you can see movies while driving.
Well what worked for me was when the message is up and the dvd player says wrong region or whatever, push 1 on your remote, worked for me. played every dvd i had some would just start automaticly and some errored out and i just pressed 1 on my remote and they started playing right away. hope that works. You can't change the DVD coding. That part is how the DVD is recorded. However, your Mac will play DVDs from another region. It just typically defaults to one region. I have deleted the DVD player software (and preferences files) before and reloaded it to play DVDs from another region. If you plan to regularly play DVDs from multiple regions, you might want to look for special DVD software that will read DVDs from multiple regions.
you probably have constant power running the radio. do you have constant and ignition wires from the radio hooked up or did you twist the yellow and red wires together? if this installation was done correctly than you the unit should power off when you turn the ignition off.
To fix this issue on the back of the double din touch screen#uv8020, splice the pink wire, and splice into the (black) ground wire connecting them together. This will enable you to watch dvd;s whie driving.
