SOURCE: C1 Microphone noises

This is a common problem with less expensive condenser mics, due to contamination on the circuit board or capsule there can be some leakage current which makes noises and can cut off the sound entirely. SP should be able to fix this for you for not much money.

SOURCE: how to connect behringer ultragain pro mic

Here is the manual:http://www.behringer.com/EN/downloads/pdf/MIC2200_P0054_M_ENG.pdf Plug your microphone into the input using a proper cable. Plug another balanced cable into the output on the back and plug it into a microphone input on the mixing board. If your mixing board already has phantom power, disable it for that input as the MIC2200 has phantom power. Read the manual carefully and take note of the directions for phantom power and balanced cables. Make sure you follow the directions carefully. If you need the manual in a different language look the MIC2200 up under products at Behringer.com and you can download in pdf format in many different languges.

Ok i`ve tried the wiring you all gave me 1-4 for my old style telex turner mic on this new cobra 29 every time I do this ,several times I get a buzzing sound every time i plug it in WHATS wrong?

Hi there I had similar problems myself and the only thing I can think of is that there is a break in the wiring to the mic capsule or that the coil of the mic capsule is open. This is when a dynamic capsule is used. If you have a condenser type then check if there are no dry joints on the capsule itself or a resistor faulty. The amplifying FET is inside and it cannot be repaired. If it is a condenser mic, make sure you have a DC supply from the TX or whatever it is connected to. Does it have a silver button type battery and is it in good condition?

Why Behringer C1U not recognized ?

Did you install the mic's drivers before plugging the mic in? Have you tried it on 32bit operating systems other than Win 7? I don't think it will be an audio driver problem ie: asio4all. But because the OS doesn't recognise the driver automatically it might indicate where the problem lies. I am not familiar with this particular mic ( I use AKG cs1000s with Zoom R16 audio interface ) but I know there can be issues with some 64 bit systems and certain audio hardware. Nothing in the Behringer forums?

No mic audio

Hi
cordless mics consist of the following parts:
mic capsule- audio and copression amp- Xtall and RF section.
In your case RF is ok. Test mic capsule ( using an audio amp or simply connect it momentarily to a 1.5 vollt battery and listen for a "khesh" noise from your capsule. If your mic capsule is ok your amp and compressor section is either damaged due to a reverse battery connection or you have " cold solder joints" on or around the audio amp. Countryman mic getting a noise like a white noise generator sounds but it comes and goes. What can I do about it?

Serious crackle or noise is a different problem, but a lesser, rustling crackle is very common with these mics. If you aren't looping the cable close to the mic, you will run into issues.

What you have to do, is put a small, 1/2' loop in the cable, making sure that the looped part of the cable is touching the initial part of the cable. Affix them so they stay that way throughout your performance/production. The closer you get the loop to the mic, the better.

As a test, take the mic, hook it up to equipment and listen on headphones. Start handling the mic, mainly by rubbing the cable, or rub the cable with various fabrics, listening for the rustle. Then put the loop in it and do the same thing. It is amazing how much more quiet it becomes. Try it with the loop half way down the cable and handle the cable above and below the loop. you can hear the rustling above the loop, but not below.

This model HAS to have that loop for quiet audio.

My microphone doesn't do it right.

Some of the Podcast mics are condenser mics and MUST be used with a preamp or DEVICE that supplies PHANTOM power to the mic.

You computer DOESN"T supply Phantom power.

Read up on Phantom power in Google to understand it.

I bought a new behringer vmx1000. I can not get the microphone working.

What microphone are you using, and also have you checked the cable is good? The gain knob on the mic channel is the only independent control for the mic level in relation to the music (without altering the masters). Also, you need the mic to be enabled on the channel, using the Mic On switch. Yours might be labelled On Air, Mic Live, etc.
