I have a Canon Pixma Ip2600. The oranage and green light flash 3x consecutively, which indicates a paper jam. I have tipped it upside down, pushed a piece of card stock through and everything. Still flashing and not working. Please help

my printer will not print out anything. it starts to but the paper never enters into the printer, it is almost like it is jamed but it isn't.
The message says there is an error, push resume and try again.. same thing, it starts to push paper thru.. acts like a jam.. same message.. but paper is not jammed
This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you.
Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there. First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out. If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there. And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it. Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing. That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it. It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.
So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Hi You can Try 2 things. ERROR 5100 means that there is some foreign object blocking your cartridges carriage that disables it from moving. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.
First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.
If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there Next try. It may be a piece of paper or a scotch tape or a staple wire. Solution 1: Clean the timing strip.
Solution 2: The purge cap (the white sliding mechanism that the print head parks to when it's not in use) may be not lubricated well enough .
Lubricate the sliders with some white grease (don't get it on the small wipers or the black caps); this repair probably require to remove the right panel off of the printer to gain access to the purge mechanism. Based on instructions from your website I pushed a letter sized piece of thin cardboard backwards through the paper feed rollers then shook the printer while holding it upside down. A Q tip fell out, problem solved.
You can't reset except by removing paper scraps. Try using an index card and gently push it backwards thru the rollers where the paper comes out to be printed. There are gears on the left side you can rotate to push the card to remove scraps.
