SOURCE: GE frontloader door gasket ripped

We had the same problem. We only washed clothes in it like 3 times and we had water all over our brand new built house. Luckily the store we bought it from brought us a new machine. I refused having them fix it after water ran all inside the machine. Now I have a problem with the washer EATING our clothes up. Lost a packer jersey and 3 pairs of pants!! I'd never buy one again.

SOURCE: GE Top load washing machine stop and stars during spin cycle

I had the same problem. The machine will do the washing cycle. At the start of the spin cycle it would start turning with a lot of clicking sounds and then would stop spinning. The water pump would continue working without problem. The motor tries to start again in about three minutes, however, repeats the same behavior. I have a reasonable mechanical and electrical knowledge. I was sure that the overload protection switch of the motor was tripping. I opened up my machine---a GE super capacity top loading machine. Took off the belt and turned the transmission pulley. It turned easily in both directions (washing and spinning). Hence, the transmission was good. Next, I checked any water accumulation in the spin tub. If the water is not drained properly before the spin cycle, it would overload the motor. There was no water clogged in the spin tub. Finally, I dismantled the electric motor. There was a clutch assembly underneath the motor pulley. I dismantled it and found the clutch very dirty with some grease that had turned sticky. I cleaned the assembly thoroughly with alcohol and assembled back the machine. The machine is running perfect after that. Conclusion: The clutch assembly was mis-functioning. Reason: When the spin cycle starts, the spin tub is very heavy and cannot achieve the full speed quickly. On the other hand, electric motors must get to their running speed fairly quickly or else overheating of motor would happen. A proper functioning clutch allows the motor to run at their optimal speed while transferring enough torque to the spin tub to slowly speed up the tub to its fullest. In my case, the clutch was sticky, thus overloading the motor which would trip as it overheats.

SOURCE: Loud banging noise durning washing machine spin cycles.

First plug off the wall. Open the machine from behind to examine if any shock-absorbers(known as dampers) or springs have come off or broken. Your dealer could help with spares. But you could do the job yourself.

For spares:
RepairClinic.com (which is good)
espares.co.uk

SOURCE: water will not shut off in washing machine

Check to load size selector switch, sounds like tube came off of it. The tube goes from switch to bottom of tube, tells machine what size load and when to turn off water.

Frigidaire Laundry center replace central board and washing selector board but it's not working.

For that many issues and for the amount of money you spent, you need to call out a technician who knows this machine. Sometimes, you just have to let the pros take over. Burnt cables is never a good sign as it can take everything with it.

Kenmore Series 90 top loading washing does not fill with water

Well you eliminated the fill valve when you said it does fill with water. More than likely its a bad connection on the control board. I wouldn't betmy paycheck on it but thats where I'd start. Take the cover off the control board and while machine is on being really careful wiggle each wire until the water starts in the tub and you have found the problem.

Timer and washer will fill water to level but will not wash

HI, if the timer is not functioning, this is caused be a main control board chip set failure. you will need to replace the main control timer/control in this unit.

The timer/control initiates all the wash commands and, if it malfunctioning, it will cause these symptoms you are experiencing at this time..
