We just got a 2 year old Maytag Epic Z washer/dryer set. The washer will not fill hot water. If a cold water cycle is run- it washes fine. If a warm water cycle is run, it will start to fill, and then F20 error out approximately 10 minutes into the cycle. If a hot water cycle is started, it doesn't even pretend to fill- it just sits silently for 6 minutes and then F20 errors out. When the "Pause/Cancel" button is pushed after the F20 error on the warm cycle, water is discharged from the hose, on the hot cycle- nothing. The hot water is on, the hose is not kinked, there does not appear to be anything plugging the inlet screen, nor plugging the hose- if the hose is disconnected from the washer and the water is turned on- water flows fine from the hose. The washer has been shut off by the "Pause/Cancel" button, and it has had the power removed for several minutes. I have NOT removed power during the F20 error.

Maytag Epic Z Washer F-20, Water Inlet replaced, still F-20 Error

Chris an F-20 is usually a clogged filter on duet washers. Did you go by the tech sheet in your machine? It gives the codes and remedys and is in a jacket behind the kickplate which you remove to get to the filter. You will need a quarter inch nutdriver to gain access.

You need to change the pipes around. Put the cold water pipe onto the opposite connection ans visa verse.

I also have a Whirlpool washer/dryer for my condo, although I don't know the model number of mine. I had the same problem -- after it was precisely a year old, suddenly one day the hot and cold started coming out reversed. I was able to fix mine by more or less temporarily fiddling with the water pressure. What I did was one time, when the rinse cycle was running and the washer was filling up with hot water (grrrr...), I completely shut off the valve supplying hot water. So at that point the water stopped filling into the washer, and then I started tinkering with the cold water, twisting the valve off and on a few times. Then BINGO, suddenly the cold water "kicked in" and for the remainder of the rinse cycle, it filled the washer with cold water. I then turned the hot water valve back on, and since then it has been running correctly.

Then you most likely have a bad hot water valve. On Maytags the valve is one combo unit for both hot and cold. Maytag didn't change that much for a number of years, so you may be able to salvage one out of an old machine somewhere and fit it in -- that's what I did when my wife's Maytag did this.

Littleone.. please check your instructions.. some washers now dont need Hot water connection to them...they heat their own as part of the efficiency settings on the wash programmes themselves!
