before you go to print find the printer settings or options and make the default setting color
that way it will print exactly what is sent from the computer to the printer
If your printer can print in color and your printer is set to print in color, then you need to do nothing else, it should print in color. There are only 4 things that could prevent you from printing in color. 1. The printer settings is set to print in shades of grey. 2. The printer itself is set to print in black and white only. 3. There is no more ik in your color cartridges. 4. You don't own a color printer.
After replacing the cartridges, printer performs align print are you check this page? any color print in that? Take color copy, test all colors are OK..Go to printer properties, printing preferences, finishing check is there any check mark on print in black cartridge only? mark on print color..apply..OK.. give print command.. Go to paint draw a color drawing, print it.> check colors if its not printing in color it might be drivers issue.. un install the drivers re install once again check..> if printed in color check the file which you are printed..take another file.. then test..
If the Cartridge and printer alignment is successfull and you are still not able to print in color, mostly the Color print is disabled in your pc

The 3550 won't print in any color if any of the colors are out. You'll have to replace the color ink that's empty to get it to print.
In the future, if you're just printing black and white, you can select "Print in Grayscale" from the print properties to just use the black ink cartridge, which will help the color cartridges to last longer.
This has to do with the document printing properties. When you are ready to print a document, choose properties and make sure you go through the printer settings under that software. The test page only verifies the cartridges. The printer properties of the software control the printer during printing.
Reinsert the color cartridge. Give print command for page. Open Preferences in print window. Open the Color tab. Click on Print in Color. (It may have been set for black only.) Try printing.
