My Hotpoint Aquarius WD440 smells of hot rubber when it is on the M (drying) programme and the clothes come out smelling of rubber. Can you tell me why this is happening. Everything is working fine otherwise

Hotpoint Aquarius WD440 Washer/Dryer. After a cycle clothes still smell as if there is stagnant water underlying somewhere yet machine has been looked at - nothing wrong. Still working in excellent order...

You can buy a liquid product (I got ours in Lidl) that flushes out and cleans the machine. If one application doesn't work try it again. It's just like cleaning out the dishwasher. Worked for us and it was really smelling!

I washed some clothes with petrol on them now the washing and washing machine smells of fuel, how do i get rid of the smell of petrol from my washing machine? thanks Chris

Run the machine with no clothes, only detergent along with washing soda or baking soda, using hot water. Once or twice with this should do it.

WD440 programme m

This sounds like a faulty pcb and/or inlet valve. see links for prices.

meatballs77 - If you have warranty (the machine is less than 1 year old which yours is) or paid for extended cover then call hotpoint to replace... Hotpoint should be able to fix this - this should be free. call 0870 4422 510

Rememer parts are free up to five years - but there is a £90 callout fee after the first year.(unless you extend the full warranty)

Drying cycle runs but does not dry clothes

more than likely that your thermostats have blown if you could smell the heater element getting hot then this will be the case m8
