Problem with my phone nokia C5-03 : In my phone : Egypt time zone is GMT +3:00 (daylight saving time zone ) . but now the daylight saving time is ended in egypt ( became GMT +2:00 ) . While my phone is still GMT +3:00 time . I want to disable daylight saving time for egypt in my phone . but I cannot find an option to do that .

The DST is only based on GMT.

When daylight saving time (summer time) begins
The following models employ the Automatic Daylight Saving Time/Summer Time adjustment. The DST indicator in the display appears in the display at the beginning of the daylight saving time (summer time), and disappears at the end of it. Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment is based on GMT (Greenwich Mean Time).
• Summer time begins at: 1:00 AM on the final Sunday of March.
• Standard time begins at: 2:00 AM on the final Sunday of October

To cancel the Automatic DST/ Summer Time adjustment and
to set DST display manually
The Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment can be cancelled.
Press and hold DST for more than 3 seconds while the clock is displayed.
A beep sounds, and "Aut t OFF" appears in the display to show that the Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment is cancelled. The display returns to the clock.
Notes
• The change timing of Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment employed by the unit (see above) is subjected to variation by circumstances and the law in each country/region. In such a case, cancel the Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment and
set DST display manually as necessary. The customer who lives in the country/region that has not introduced the daylight saving time (summer time) must cancel Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment before using the set.
• To activate the Automatic DST/Summer Time adjustment again, press and hold DST for more than 3 seconds. A beep sounds, and "Aut t On" appears in the display to show that the Automatic DST/
Summer Time adjustment is activated. The display returns to the clock.
• To change the display to the daylight saving time (summer time) manually, see "To change the display to the daylight saving time (summer time) indication."

Turn off the daylight savings.

1 Press Menu or and select Settings.
2 Select Date & Time and choose from the
list below:
Set date - You can enter the current date.
Date format - You can set the date format.
(YYYY/MM/DD, DD/MM/YYYY, MM/DD/YYYY)
Set time - You can enter the current time.
Time format - You can set the time format to
either 24 hours or 12 hours.
Auto update - Select OFF, the phone will NOT
automatically update the date and time.

Try checking the time setting menu from the phones settings zone and manually assign the hour,see if any issues

You can change the TIME ZONE on your cell phone's date and time settings it looks something similar to this: GMT- 07

If there is a problem in the received mesage time, Do set your time settings as :
Time Zone: GMT +5:30
Day Light Saving as +0
And do restart your handset. This will solve your problem.

changing time is done by selecting your countries time zone in SETUP


eg Australia adelaide 9.5hrs from GMT will change the time to coirrect time + or - Daylight saving

Thank you for your response to my query.

I have already fixed the problem before I got your email.

This is what I did: I turned the cell phone off and reinserted the SIM card, set the right time in the Settings for Date & Time, changed the time zone to GMT +8 (our country's location), maintained the O for Daylight Savings, saved the changes, then selected "On" for "Auto-update of date and time". That solved the whole problem!

Setting the clock

The clock is set to the correct time automatically, but it
can also be set manually. The clock can be set for
daylight saving time and time zone.
Preparation:
• Turn ON the TV and set it to the video input mode.
• Select “CLOCK” from “SYSTEM SETUP”. For the
procedure, see steps 1 to 3 in “Using the SETUP
MENU”

1 Press SETUP while the DVD and video tape is
stopped.
The SETUP MENU screen will appear.

CLOCK (manually)
You can manually set the date, year and present time
with the remote control.
Ex.: Setting the clock to “10:20AM” October, 30th, 2004.
1 Select “CLOCK” and press ENTER.

AUTO CLOCK
You can automatically set the clock by turning “ON” the
AUTO CLOCK function.
When you want to set the auto clock function to “OFF”,
select “AUTO CLOCK”, press ENTER and select “OFF”
from the list.

Auto clock setting
Preparation:
You must connect the antenna or cable before connecting
the AC cord to the power source.
Wait 30 minutes with the power turned off, after the
antenna or cable is connected, for the auto clock
feature to activate.
After the clock is set automatically, you may have to set
the time zone and daylight saving time. (See page 26.)
Press STANDBY/ON to turn on the DVD/VCR after the
auto clock operation completed.
• When shipped from the factory, the “AUTO CLOCK”
option is set to “ON” position.
• If you turn the DVD/VCR on during auto clock
setting, the clock is not set.
• After a power failure or disconnection of the power
plug, the clock setting will be lost. In this case, wait
30 minutes before turning the DVD/VCR on.
• With cable box connection, if the auto clock setting
is unsuccessful, select the PBS channel carrying
the XDS information, then turn the DVD/VCR off.
After 30 minutes, turn the DVD/VCR on.
• If the clock is not set automatically, set the clock
manually.


STANDARD TIME (Time zone)
In the rare event that you live within the broadcast range
of two stations in two different time zones, the DVD/VCR
may recognize the wrong station for the auto clock set.
To correct the situation:
Select “STANDARD TIME” and select the time zone from
the list below.

ATLANTIC: GMT – 4 hours
(GMT: Greenwich Mean Time)
EASTERN: GMT – 5 hours
CENTRAL: GMT – 6 hours
MOUNTAIN: GMT – 7 hours
PACIFIC: GMT – 8 hours
ALASKA: GMT – 9 hours
HAWAII: GMT – 10 hours
AUTOMATIC: AUTO SET
Note
• When shipped from the factory, the “TIME ZONE” is
set to “AUTOMATIC”.
• After making the auto clock setting, in some cases
the clock may display another time zone. You can
correct the clock by selecting your time zone
setting above.
• When the clock is not set or you set the clock
manually, the time zone setting is not available.
DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME
You can set the clock to daylight saving time automatically
or manually.
To select daylight saving time, select “DAYLIGHT
SAVING TIME” and select “ON”, while to cancel the
daylight saving time, select “OFF”.
ON: For manual setting (forward 1 hour)
OFF: For manual setting (back 1 hour)
AUTOMATIC: For automatic setting (read XDS in
the signal)
Note
• When you want to set daylight saving time, on the
first Sunday in April you set it to “ON”, and on the
last Sunday in October you set it to “OFF”.
• When shipped from the factory, the “DAYLIGHT
SAVING TIME” option is set to “AUTOMATIC”.
• When the clock is not set, the daylight saving time
setting is not available.
• When there is no daylight saving time in your area,
always select “OFF”.
