Is this machine brand new or recently new, The machine will not spin if all the water did not drain, there a float switch when the water level gets down to a certain point then it will activate the solenoid valves to spin, make sure the machine is level, it's really difficult problem without looking at it first, It could be a number of things that's wrong, Is the machine still under warranty. If the cycle is interupted before the final cycle it is probably your lid switch that is defective or verify if the screws on each side of the lid are tightened properly.

Water valve is bad most likely. Once the machine gets going in final spin shut off the water supply till you can get another water valve.

I have a problem with my MW512AU. Sometimes it drains after wash cycle, but sometimes it sticks when it goes to spin, doesn't get up to speed, water comes on for about 10 seconds and shuts off, and it tries to spin again. If I hit the wash progress switch it goes directly to final spin and works ok. I then have to run a 2nd wash cycle to rinse the clothes. I also noticed a buzzing sound when I turn on the power point, which lasts about 3 seconds before stopping. It will come back on every 3-4 minutes for 30 seconds. This is with the machine power switch off. It powers on normally.

There is something clogging your pump, dismantle it to clear it. Plug off the wall socket mains first.

chances are you had a blockage in the pump and it tried to spin with the water still in the drum. check the bottom hose and filter for blockages so it does not occur again.
