HP iPAQ HX4700 Pocket PC Logo

Removing/restoring partnership I have an HP Pocket PC, and recently I bought a Windows Mobile-based smartphone. When I installed ActiveSync for the PDA, it created a 'default' partnership called "Pocket_PC." When I connected the smartphone, it suggested creating a new partnership, let's call it "Smatphone." Everything went smoothly until I had some problems with the smartphone and did a har reset. After that, when I attempted to created a partnership for the smartphone under the same name, ActiveSync would not allow me to do so. Even deleting the relevant folders in c:\documents..\my profile\...activesync\smartphone did not eliminate the problem - the systems still says I cannot create a partnership under the same name. I find it very annoying to have to uninstall/re-install ActiveSynce EVERY time I want to get rid of a partnership and re-create it under the SAME name. I wonder if there a method of deleting a partnership and then re-creating it under the SAME name.

How i connect to pc my HTC S 710 Mobile?

If your PC has Windows XP, you should have ActiveSync installed and running, in order to have a WM smartphone synchronized. Otherwise, if it has Vista or 7, WMDC should be used instead.
If you already happen to have the correct sync program on your PC, and yet, are unable to sync your device, firstly, reboot both your PC and device. If you keep unable to sync, try to remove the partnership between your PC and your device on both of them, and try to connect your device again. If the failure persists, try to uninstall and reinstall ActiveSync (or WMDC), reboot your PC and try again.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.
Cheers! Carlos

HTC HD and MS Outlook Notes

Unfortunately, Notes are not available using Exchange ActiveSync, yet.

You have to tether your phone to a PC with Outlook and ActiveSync (XP) or Windows Mobile Device Center (Vista) installed.

Since mutiple ActiveSync partnerships are supported you can sync some things with Exchange and some with your PC.

If we are lucky Windows Mobile 7 and/or Exchange 2010 will make this possible.

ExchangeSever in the mobile active sync

Open ActiveSync on the phone and delete the partnerships.
Open ActiveSync on your computer when your phone is NOT connected and delete the partnerships.

You should now be back to square one.

Restoring Backup to New Axim

The backup utility included on your Dell Handheld will backup your data to a storage card. You can restore on your replacement handheld from that storage card. From your Host PC, you can go to Tools | Backup/Restore and do a backup to the Host PC, and you can then restore after syncing the replacement handheld for the first time.

NO file transfers are working!

Try deleting the partnership in ActiveSync on the PC, and then create a new partnership. I saw this problem, when I connected the first time to a PC. I tried connecting to a second PC, and had no problem. When I went back to the first, it required that I create a new partnership, and no problem with the connection.

Help with syncing!

Do you have Activesync installed? What is it doing? Do you have the appropriate boxes checked in Activesync to sync files -- if that is what you really want to do?? Can you copy and paste files from the PC to your "Mobile Device" in Windows Explorer on the PC?
