You turned on your laptop and horrors upon horrors, the screen is BLACK! You see that the laptop has power but besides that nothing is happening. I want you to know that there is a very good chance you can get out of this situation quickly and without any cost. This fix works on all brands of laptops:

1.
? 1) TAKE OUT YOUR LAPTOP BATTERY
? 2) REMOVE YOUR AC ADAPTOR CORD, that's the wall power, remove it.
? 3) NOW HOLD DOWN THE POWER BUTTON FOR 30 SECONDS

2. That will drain any static electricity that has built up on your laptop system board and many times fixes the problem of a black screen. After the 30 seconds re-connect your laptop to the wall power and hit the power button normally and see if the laptop comes back up.

Replace your battery.

3. Did this help you? If so Mo Bradley has one more quick tip to save your pocket.

I would like you to save on the high cost of replacement printer ink and I implore you not to buy Original Brand replacement ink. This is the rip off of the century and the Original Brand companies are not even ashamed. Try this website http://www.usainktank.com/ for ink which is mostly under $4.00 each (even HP ink) or if they don't have your printer model try some of the other suppliers of off brand printer ink. In the past I have used http://www.4inks.com/ and http://www.123inks.com/. They all have good quality off brand cartridges that will save you so much money.

I hope you find it very helpful.

How do I format my hard drive on a inspiron 1501 laptop

You can format and reinstall Windows on your Dell using the Recovery CD. Boot up with the Recovery CD and follow the on screen instructions.
If you do not have this Recovery CD for your model laptop then you can get one from the Dell WEB site.

I have a Dell 1501 Inspiron Laptop. Upon starting, or trying to start, the screen goes to 3/4 of it narrow vertical multi-colored lines with what appears to be a black ink spot splattered across the page,...

Re-install windows... Your hard drive may be corrupt. Get the disc for the operating system and try a repair install first, if that does not take, do a full install (you may lose your data but it may be gone anyway). If that doesnt work, than you need a new hard drive. Make sure it starts up to BIOS screen first, it should do this with no hard drive and boot it from a disc using the CD that came with your machine.

My dell inspiron 1501 laptop has been flickeri ng colors or a lrge strip down middle , now half the screen is black with little color line

hello
This could be anything from the screen is dying or the inverter (electronic board that powers the screen' back light).

If you press slightly at the top of the screen, see if the lines will disappear or not, if it does then come back again; you might need to change your lcd.
hope it helped

Dell inspiron 1501 shuts down very often automatically even after changing the battery.

is the laptop running unusually quiet? when you start it up hold it up to your ear and see if you can hear a fan spinning. its not uncommon for a laptops cooling fan to come from factory jammed. if its stuck you can usually dislodge it with a firm smack (after the laptop has been cut off and battery removed, wait a few seconds to make sure the hard drive has spun down).

Dell Inspiron 1501, died and will not restart

Try to remove the battery and unplug the power supply, then hold down the power button for about 10 seconds. If this doesn't work, it could be that the laptop overheated while watching the DVD.

Laptop blue screens when trying to reinstall vista

The problem might be with the bad sectors on a hard drive. You should run Scan Disk on a partition where you were trying to install Windows Vista.

Black screen on 1501 Inspiron laptop

I wen t to Dell website and did search for 1501 Inspiron laptop. After I found the product, I entered "black screen" and did another search. The search brought up 3 problems. One of them had several of the problems I had encountered, including black screen, horizontal lines, blue screen at times.
The solution was to download and update my Video driver. This seems to have solved my issues.
