Washing Machine We have a Kenmore Elite washing machine about 14 years old. Just recently noticed that clothing that's been washed comes out with numerous snags all throughout the garment.

It is the wash tub most likely. It usually will have rust build up over time if it is an older model. You can replace it or have it replaced to stop this from happening.Eventually it will shred the garments if it is not replaced.Sometimes you can buy a new one cheaper than replacing the tub.

Will not go into spin cycle

HI
It is very likely that the transmission needs to be replaced/repaired.
Inside most top loading washer transmissions is a small part that lets the motor drive the transmission in either the agitation mode or the spin mode. When this part shifts back and forth to the two different positions for wash or spin. When it locks the transmission into the spin position, the motor and transmission can now spin the wash tub to help remove excess water from the clothes. When this lock breaks, the washer will still wash and agitate and the motor will still pump out the water in the washer, but without the spinning of the tub, clothes will not be damp dry enough to be put into the dryer.

The part itself isn't much money, but the problem is that the repair isn't easy for even a good Dyer to perform, as you have to remove the agitator, wash tub, tub seal boot, and the transmission from the cabinet just to get ready for the repair process.

IF you can even get the repair part for the broken transmission (difficult as most manufacturers only let authorized service dealers buy these sub-components these days), it will be VERY messy to disassemble the transmission and remove all the oil and broken metal pieces from the transmission lock part.and then completely clean out the inside of the transmission housing replace the gear assembly and put in the new lock piece, plus add back new, clean appliance trans oil and a new end build washer transmissions on.

it is best to buy a new washer. Especially if your washer is more than 10-12 years old.

Duet ghw9100 washer clunking noise on spinning belt ok tub supports ok white plastic collar in front part of tub is broken and shredding

With the machine off, push upward on the inner drum and release. If the clunking sound occurs and the drum seems somewhat loose, likely the front main bearing for the drum is damaged and must be replaced. Major tear-down!

When it is running it moves a lot on the tile floor we have it on. What is the best way to stop it from moving? It is a GE Profile washing machine

You will need to replace the rubber straps. There is one one each conner, just under the top. If you push the tub over to one side and run your hand under the top and feel. You will find a rubber strap that connects from under the top to the outer tub. These are bad to break. You need to replace the broken ones before you use the machine again. These keep the outer tub from banging into the inside of the machine causing it to break and leak. When this happens, the tub list for around $160.00 and it take about two hours to replace it. It's cheaper to buy a new machine it the tub breaks. GE's are known for this problem.
