Hello, I took a few pictures from Lumix DMC-ZR1 without knowing that I didn't have the memory card on it. The camera allowed me to take about 9 photos but after that it just stopped taking images because it says that "memory is full". Is it possible to retrieve the images from the main storage? Please help. Thanks.

You don't really need it. Pros never use the camera to computer connection for downloading pics. They use a card reader and download to a folder they create on the desktop. Once there, the pics can be sent to any program you want.
Actually, you still might be able to get those photos back, even though they've been erased. Try not to take any more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones.
This sounds like the problem may have occurred because you might not have formatted the card in your camera as recommended by the manufacturer. If true, after you've recovered your photos, format the card in your camera using the camera's format feature. This will prevent this from happening again.
Hello Try removing the battery and the memory card for 1 minute then return them back. Make sure the battery is inserted properly. If that didn't work, try turning it on without the memory card.
Did you get any error message when you try to turn on your camera?
Hi, Here is a tip that may help you with your problem....
I found out that with my cameraI needed to transfer the pictures within the camera to the card and them fromthe card to the computer... The process for your camera may not be exactly the same, but should be similar.
Hello , are you try connect with pc already? if you can connect, then you can retrieve from that, if not, try remove your memory card , and using card reader to get the picture from memory card. Other solution, try on your camera without memory card and switch on and try connect using software that came with your camera.
It says DO NOT format on PC - you need to format in camera - have you done this? on Page 29 of the Manual http://panasonic.com.au/content/library/files/F002413.pdf
