I just installed a CANON IR 3235 on our network. I can print to it but I can not scan on the network. I installed ScanGear Tool but when inputting the IP address I set on the Copier it give me an error saying " The specific IP address is invalid, or a scanner is not connected to the specified IP address." Right now I really dont know what to do. How come I can print over the network but not scan over the network?

Install the scanner driver (Canon Network ScanGear) found on the bundled CD. I assume you already assigned an IP address on your copier. Run the Network ScanGear software, the one you installed earlier. Click Discover or you can manually type the IP address of your copier. If your copier is discovered, click Test Connection. Remark is displayed that your scanner is ready to use. Click OK to save the settings.
Now, run 3rd party software (eg Photoshop). In File > Acquire > (Select Canon Network ScanGear). A window will pop up and you are ready for scanning. Note: If error "Scanner is offline" occurs, go to your copier and press Scan > Remote Scan > Online.
1) install Network ScanGear software from canon officiall site, search under ir 3300, and among all drivers there is scangear too. 2) when you install scangear, open it and press discover button, but the light scan on copier must be on, and set on ONLINE. 3) Then over eg. word2003 go to insert-pic.-from scaner or cam.-choose scangear- custom insert.
step1 Install Printer drivers, after that install presto page manager....after it install ----- color network scan gear......after install it go to scan gear tool click on discover your printer IP address will appear in list then select that IP address .....exit form the tab.
go to the presto page manager............go to file ..select aquire image data press ok ok..then click on scan button....It will work
The Machine must be connected to a network.Download Network Scangear software driver from the Canon webside, install it on your destop. After installation open the Scangear tool and select the discover button. The scangear will search for the machine on the network. As soon as it has discover the machine the ip address will show in the tool.Select the Machine and close the scangear tool.Select the scan button and set it to online.
Now you can scan in to a program like word or exel by Insert a picture from scanner.
try to add your printer so that you can scan, just click start of your computer then go to all program the add printer or scansoft then restart your pc to take effect
Had the same problem with my Canon IR2018i... After spending about all day stuffing around and ready to give up... I read in the Color Network Scangear User Manual that "Only scanners on the same subnet (network with the same network ID) as your computer are displayed in the list" So I went the the TCP/IP settings on my copier and changed my subnet mask from 255.255.255.0 to 255.255.255.255 and magically my scanner appeared.... Give it a go...
On the device you want to chose the SCAN option and set it to ONLINE.
You then need an application that does TWAIN scanning and aquire image data. Set your scanner device yo "Canon Color Network Scangear".
A freeware product you can use to test is irfanview
You would otherwise need to do an aquire / TWAIN scan from MS Word or Adobe Acrobat (full/pro) or another software that does TWAIN scanning.
Hi,ok you have to load the clolor network scangear exe file.If the scangear is installed, click on discoveron the color network scangear tool.It will detect the machine, select the machine.
Then it will be ready to scan into word or other programs.
Download the network scangear from the canon web site.
Install the scangear on all the computers you want to scan to.
On the scangear tool there is a discover icon, click that icon and wait till the ir 5000 is picked up by the network.Select the machine in the scangear tool. Now you will be able to scan to mirosoft word and exel like you normally do with a scanner.
If the scangear tool was unable to discover the machine, the network settings of the IR must be checked.
Hope this help.
