I have a WTW6400SW2. Always get 5d code if we use high spin speed or do large load. Also seems to take forever for tub to drain. Related problems? In the past have epoxied exterior of drain pump due to damage from coins so may have broken pump blades/impeller? Also bearings used to make loud noise during spin cycle.

Hi

Error code SD/5d means LONG DRAIN. This error appears when the drain time exceeds 8 minutes and the water valves turn off. After 4 minutes the "Sd" error will be displayed, and then 4 minutes later the F21 error code will be displayed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL two times to clear the display. Please Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked. If the drain hose if fine then unplug the washer and check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running. Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects. To access the drain pump and filter remove the front kick panel and trace the drain hose to the bottom of the washer, drain pump would be located there. If you are not able to access it, then replace the back panel as well. Plug in washer or reconnect power. If the issue is still not resolved then you would need to replace the drain pump. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

5d fault what does it mean?

The 5d (or Sd) error code indicate that the control detected a suds lock or overdose of detergent during the drain or spin phases of the cycle. This is usually caused by overuse of detergent. It can also be caused by using regular detergent instead of HE (High Efficiency) detergent. After the excessive suds dissipate, you can normally clear the fault code and then run a drain/spin to finish the load of laundry.

If you detect no excessive suds, this fault code could be caused by a clogged drain system or a failed water level pressure switch.

Why does my washer stop spinning on final spin cycle and show code of UL even when there is nothing in washer?

you either have a broken tub support spring or, the uneven load sensor is reporting because of a bad controller unit.

Long spin cycle of my Samsung WF8590NHM Front Load Washer is always interrupted and throws this flashing "5d" error code.

Hi.

The error code is not 5D but SD, which means slow drain detected.

Check drain hose. Check drain filter attached to the pump. Check pump itself and pressure switch.

Regards.

My LG TROMM model # WM1812CW has a burning rubber smell when it's on the last high speed cycle. Can you help me locate the problem?

I just ran into this same situation. The problem was that the basket has been rubbing against the tub/door gasket. In this specific case it finally wore through the tub and was a hole through it. It si looking to be approx a $600 repair.

There is always water in the drum even after a laod but after it sits empty the tub fills with more water

This might be a problem with your locking mechanism which is preventing the washer from actually performing a complete spin cycle. It will drain and appear to function but the high speed spin never actually takes place.

Drain Cycle doesn't drain right. Have to keep running the cycle to get water out.

sounds liker you have a pump/drain issue. ill assume that the technician removed the bottom acess panel and checked the "button trap" for foreign debris. if that was clear next i would check the hoses themselves, tub to pump hose may have something iin it. perhaps your drain hoseis clogged/ kinked. in some cases ive seen the pump sound as if its working but not pumping anywater out, in which case youll need to replace the pump.THis machine will not achieve high speed spin without draining adequate amount of water first. lastly you NEED to be using an HE detergent( specifically designed for front load washers)

Does not always spin

How old and is it on all loads? How fast to stop the machine when you lift the lid? Can you stop the tub while spinning, careful on this one?
