When you have WAIT showing on the display this means the radio has been asking for a code and too many incorrect code entries have been made. The radio is locked down because of this. This happens when the power has been lost to the radio and it needs a code to reactivate it.

When WAIT is on the display you must leave the radio turned on under constant power with the key in the ignition turned to accessories position on until the display turns to CODE or shows ----. You must leave the radio on for up to four hours with the power uninterrupted. The waiting period depends on how many incorrect codes have been entered.

The power to the radio must remain uninterrupted or the WAIT period will start all over again hence the reason why the key must be turned in the ignition to Accessories I

Once you have CODE or ---- back on the display you need to enter the correct code to reactivate it. If you do not have the correct code I suggest you go here and purchase the code from this website which is one of the few sites I know that can decode Becker radios online.

You need to send them the serial number of the radio and they will email the code back to you.

Hope it helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

Inputted incorrect radio code and now the digital display says code waiting. I now have the correct radio code - now what do I do?

may have to power it down---such as remove all power from the radio, wait a while and try again. If that doesn't work, I've heard that you have to wait up to six hours with the power ON and then retry. On the 318i the wait is about 90 min.

1994 BMW 525 radio displays "CODE WAIT" after I put in the code numbers

You need to wait 1 hour before attempting to put the code in. Either the ignition needs to stay on 1 hour or drive it for 1 hour. If they key is turned off before then, you will need to start again.

How do i reset my becker juke box radio be2233 from wait to code?

Hi,

You must leave the radio turned on and most importantly the key must be in the ignition turned to the first point that turns acessories on.

You may have to wait for up to 2 hours before the radio returns to code and the power must not be interrupted during this time or the wait period will start all over again. Obviously make sure your car is in a safe place whilst you are waiting as key must be left turned in ignition.

When you get code back on the display you can enter your code as normal. If you do not have the correct code for your radio send your enquiry here and they will sort it out for you.

Thanks for using FixYa.

I ahave a cdr2005 i have to wait hours to put the code in is there a quicker way

The reason you are having to wait is because wrong codes have been entered previously....and the waiting time doubles after each wrong code attempt.

The secret is to leave it switched ON ...UNDISTURBED until it has automatically reset itself.

Do not touch it until it has reset otherwise the waiting time starts again.

Make sure you have the correct code.

note: this code will NOT be available for free.

Only available from Main Dealer or Decoding Service

You must leave the key in the ignition for one hour before the CODE WAIT is replaced with CODE... then enter the correct code and you are away.
