In order to disable the Anti-Virus components of Webroot Anti-Virus you must
go to two separate sections: Anti-Virus Shield Disabling 1. Click
on the Options button on the left hand side of Webroot Anti-Virus 2. Go
to the Shields tab of the Options Menu 3. Under the section labeled
Anti-Virus Protection, take the checkmark out of the Protect against Viruses
box. Anti-Virus Sweep Disabling 1. Click on the Options button on the left
hand side of Webroot Anti-Virus 2. On the Sweep tab, put the dot into
Custom Sweep (please note you can only disable Anti-Virus Sweeps by using the
Custom Sweep option) 3. Under the section labeled Sweep Settings Summary,
click the Change Settings link which is next to Custom Sweep Settings 4.
A Custom Sweep box will appear with various sections to click on. Click on the
What To Sweep button on the left side of this Custom Sweep box. 5. On
this screen, take the checkmark out of Sweep for Viruses under the Viruses
section. 6. Click the OK button at the bottom of this screen and you will
be returned to the Sweep tab. (Again please note that you can only disable
Anti-Virus Sweeps by using the Custom Sweep Option which will now be
selected)
The easiest solution to your problem is to reinstall the program if its still under subscription just download it from any site and enter your info =) good luck
USUALLY you cannot set your pc to wake up at a specific time..You can set it to wake up on ring (ethernet) but once the system is in sleep it takes a physical action on your part to wake it up.. sorry, it is just the way of the pc
I was just using Webroot Window Washer the other day and had a similar problem. I went to the control panel and deleted the program. Then I reinstalled it and it worked fine this time. Of course I was using a free trial. If you purchased the program just download it again or reinstall it from your disc.
I too have Trend PC Cillin ( anti-virus ) and Webroot Spy sweeper... I schedule sweeps at different times so there is no overlap or conflicts.. I am running windows XP Pro ( i do not like Vista... even thou I may not have any choice at some point) but I have not had any conflicts or lockups between them.. There may be some other underlying issue with your system... For what it's worth...
I have seen this problem a couple times. The only fix that seems to work is uninstalling Spysweeper and then reinstall it again. If you go to start>Programs>webroot you will see an uninstaller. Run that, reboot the computer, then reinstall again from your install disc.
Webroot has a main page where one of the tabs across the the top is 'Shields' Click on that tab and set all shields on except the e-mail one. That one makes a mess on Outlook Express. I also dropped back a few versions since the latest one kept yakking about a shortage of drive space when there was no problem. As to alerts the program will give an ' Alert' when it thinks that a sweep is overdue. I just click on 'sweep later' and minimize the alert. There are also some good anti spyware 'freebies such as AVG and SpyBot Search and destroy
