helow, can you please explain the problem
if you meant zooming doesn't work, it can be due to
zoom button broken or zoom mechanical problem
if you hear any weird sounds when you try to zoom that maybe to broken gears or a dislocation of the gears, you need to take it to a repair center
hello there! lg gt505 does have a zoom function. but if your using 5mp image size you will not be able to zoom your camera. you can only zoom if you change your image size to 3mp and below. you can zoom further if change to 1mp though. hope this helps. happy taking photo! =)

Some time Zoom switch knob got broken internally and resulted the problem as you have with this camera. You can replace upper part of camera with following part number.. A-1246-250-A CABINET UPPER(240),BLOCK ASSY
It is an easy job to replace above part. Part available in Parts Store for $24
Your camera is not broken. That's by design. Canon cameras do not allow optical zoom use while in movie mode. Canon claims that using the optical zoom in movie mode would cause excessive noise in the movie. However, you can use digital zoom in movie mode. You'll need to go into the menus (press the menu button) and turn digital zoom "on" if it's currently off.
well did the camera got wet???, if soo it needs the mainboard to be replaced, if not could just be the mainboard also, but if it´s the second one the repair centre will fix it for free if ?t´s under warranty
