U tries check the power source and unplug,replug the tv back like about an hour later.For the tv to do a resetting itself back to the factory setting.No,fans in LCD or Plasma flat tvs.If this tv a LCD flat screen tv than the tv have power supply board problems,this tv doesn't have fan design into it.After it goes off the tv power LED light indication on the tv bazel frame are blinking?Yes that the tv have a power supply board can't sustance power voltages to the tv anymore.The tv power supply board that the board where the power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish power supply board for the replacement.Or have the tv service by a athorized LCD tvs and Plasma tvs shops.

Why would there vertical lines on my toshiba theater wide tv?
this sounds like a bad capacitor. If you want to fix it yourself and know how to solder on a pcb, then replace all of the electrolytic capacitors.
