I have a maytag bravos xl top loader with the water saver i cannot find a detergent that doesnt get rid of the soap it covers my black clothes

powder detergents are generally the reason for that as they use a clay base to carry the active detergent and it is that base that is the problem
Try using a liquid detergent
next try using a wash bag that you put clothes in to put in the wash as that also stops marks and fluff from getting onto black or dark colored cloths

Do you put detergent in the frigidaire affinity front loader clean washer cycle?

Good Afternoon Jodi,

I understand that you are wondering if you put detergent in your Frigidaire Affinity washer for the clean cycle. You do not put detergent in. You will want to take the detergent cup out and put a cup of bleach in there when you run the clean cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your washer status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

-Best Regards-

Do I put powder detergent in the same place I put Liquid detergent?

Detergent compartment
Add liquid or powdered detergent to this compartment for your
wash cycle. The detergent separator must always be in place,
either in the front or back position.
Do not fill beyond the “MAX” level.
Liquid or powdered color-safe bleach may be added to the
Main Wash compartment along with the same type of
detergent, liquid or powdered.
Liquid detergent: Put the SEPARATOR in the front position,
between the guides, as shown as shown by Position 1 below.
There will be no gap between the bottom of the wash cycle detergent
compartment and the bottom of the separator.

Powdered detergent:
Put the SEPARATOR in the back
position, behind the guides as shown by Position 1 below. There will be
a gap between the bottom of the wash cycle detergent
compartment and the bottom of the separator.

NOTE: The separator will be in the POWDER (back) position
when shipped from the factory.

There are streaks (lint?) left on clothes after

It is not on the machine, it is on the detergent that you are using and the amount of water for per grams of detergent, maybe you are putting to much detergent, try to lessen the detergent and more water instead.

REGULAR DETERGENT ON HE PLUS

Regular detergent causes the washer to make too much suds. Use HE detergent unless you want to fry your washer. You can use regular detergent as long as you use a small amount.
