Hi and sorry to hear about your recent misfortune. The really sounds like you have broken the inner workings of the lid switch. The only damge you could do by dropping the lid other than metal damage would be to the plastic body of the lid switch. There is a 4 pin connector on the switch that may have become dislodged which would prevent machine operation. If the body cracked at one of the mounting screws this too would prevent the machine from operating. I am pretty sure that your current problem is strictly related to the lid switch.

HI,
The lid switch has a in circuit fuse within the case, this can cause a total shut down. As for the timer, this is possible too, but I would lean toward the lid switch first.
