I dont understand about the term DVD driver.

once you click on any of the above links according to the operating system that you are using, scroll down to step 3 and then click on download only button. once the download is finished, unplug the usb cable from the printer and then run the file.

Hello, I have a new computer that's running Vista. How can I install my HP PSC 1610, given that the software for the printer is designed for Windows XP?

try this.. i got the same problem before.. and the main problem is the NO MECH MODE.. try pressing the setup button then take the plug out of your printer.. (still pressing the setup button) and put the plug back.. and it will remove the no mech mode.. then you could print like before.. i hope this helps
