HDMI connector loose Samsung LN-R409D I got a blue screen the othe day and thought that my satelite dish lost signal. After tracing, fond that the HDMI conndctor had actually come loose. There are no screws holding it in and unless I hold the cable up, it won't provide any picture. I have taken th back off the TV and found the board for the HDMI, but it is encased in metal frame which is riveted in on one end. Any suggestions?

Is this the one you have? Not sure what rivet you are talking about, the HMDI is surface mounted, it may just need to be resolder carefully back on.

My 40" samsung model no.LN-R409D has sound, no

You have bad T-CON board, check the surface mounted fuse (2A fuse) to see if it is blown, you may want to replace the board, common failure in this model.
http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/SAMSUNG/SAMSUNG%20LN-R409D/

Read below for more details:
First, look at the screen in darkened room to see if you can see any slight glow from the screen, if it does, then the problem can be the T-CON (not getting the 12vdc) or the main logic board not feeding the signals to the T-CON board.
if not, next place to check will be the power supply module, make sure it has 24vdc which is required by the backlight inverter to work, the reason for not having 24vdc can be from bad DC filter caps (leaking/bulging top, high ESR) or short circuits in the inverter board which will cause the 24vdc supply to go into shutdown mode, so you may have to disconnect the power cable that feed the inverter board to see if the 24vdc will work without the inverter board hookup, you will need to apply about 3~4 amp of load to the 24vdc to make sure it can handle that. There are fuses on the backlight inverter boards also. So there is some troubleshooting you will have to do to find out the causes of the problem you are having.

Blank screen Samsung LN-R409D, audio when turning on and off and blue light at power button in on position???

Hi there
Im afraid this sounds like a fault with the TV. Try turning it off at the wall for 3 minutes, and then with nothing plugged into the TV, turn it back on. If the problem persists contact the manufacturer.
Hope this helps

I have samsung le40b651 how can i conecct it to satelite dishe and what kind of cable should i use?

For the best signal, use a HDMI cable. There is a HDMI out put on your Sat box and a HDMI input on the set. Reading the owners manual that came with the tv will help locate these input/outputs

Sound but no picture. just a blue screen.

Two causes: The T-Con bd is bad or the Main bd is bad.
Start with the T-Con bd first.

My Samsung LN40A530 only produces a blank blue screen whenever I try to use an HDMI input source. Audio seem to come through fine but not the video. Other, non-HDMI video inputs work fine. I've tried...

We are having the same problem. We have 2 DVD players with up-converter to 1080i and 1080p. Both DVD work fine (one Sony and one Samsung) with our Samsung LN-T4053H upstairs, never intermittent.

LN40A530 downstairs is having "Searching for Signal" problem. Took it back to Sears got a new one, problem followed. Something is wrong with this LN40A530. Perhaps firmware update is needed.

NO sound on HDMI3 port and when playing Blu-Ray DVD's the screen is pink

Go to the samsung website, and find out how to upgrade the firmware for your TV. You will probably need a portable usb memory stick to do so (if your TV is equipped with one). HDMI is an evolving technology, and firmware upgrades can resolve many of these quirky issues.

Here's a possibility from http://www.samsung.com/us/support/faqs/supportFaqList.do?group=&type=&subtype=&model_nm=LN-S4696D&dType=D&mType=UM&vType=R&prd_ia_cd=02010100&acc_ia_fl=&disp_nm=LN-S4696D
Which Samsung LCD TVs Have The HDMI 1.3 Interface? spacer.gif Of the LN-T series Samsung LCD TVs, those models whose last two digits are 61, 65, 66, 69, 71, or 81 (for example, LN-T4071F or LN-T466F) have the HDMI 1.3 interface.
Samsung LCD TVs with HDMI 1.3 interfaces also have HDMI-CEC (HDMI - Consumer Electronics Control). For information about CEC, click HERE.
For information about individual Samsung LCD TVs with HDMI 1.3 interfaces and HDMI-CEC, click HERE. When the Samsung LCD TV web page appears, select the TV model you want information about by clicking the drop down list under Product Finder on the left side of the page.
Though other series of Samsung LCD TVs (LN-R, LN-S, etc.) have HDMI connections, none have models with the HDMI 1.3 interface.
