Well kind of. Check your capacitors. If you search on the internet on how to replace the capacitors in a flat panel montior you will find tons of very detailed and informational videos and forums on how to do this. It is really quite simple and none the less cheap.

When turning on my emachine desktop the monitor states no signal someone suggested that I need a fuse, Where would that fuse be located?

hello if the monitor wanted a fuse .. then it wont turn on.. which means its getting power !!!
you problem is the pc ,or monitor cable fell out at the back of pc, or you may have a defective memory stick ,that if the pc is getting power and you are seeing light on the pc.. if the pc is dead nothing lighting.. no beeps, not even the optical not opening then you have a power supply problem,
if u had a surge be it went dead try this, unplug system for 5 mins, the plug it back in, try powering on.. if still nothing , most likely , memory, video card or power supply is defective, but i think. its your memory if getting power

Screen only works for 3 seconds then goes dark.

Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). You will need to open it up and inspect the inside, see example of failed WESTINGHOUSE and other monitors to get some ideas what to look for: http://s807.photobucket.com/home/budm/allalbums
Post back what you see inside so we can guide you further and it will help out other people in the future also.

Notes: whenthe caps went out, it may have taken out the MOSFET and fuse (can be surface mounted fuse) in the inverter circuits with it.

You will have to open it up and look at the main AC fuse first, then read below:

it sounds like it could be something called the inverter. not too serious a repair to replace it but you have to dismantle the monitor to do it. If unsure about doing this let your local shop do it.

My monitor wont turn on HELP PLZ!! URGENT!!!

Yes, sometimes replacing Fuse which can be found at the back of the monitor, will help. Or else, you have to open the monitor and locate the fuse. Bring with you the busted fuse to your local electronic shop for correct replacement.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY THE PCB(POWER CONTROL BOARD IS BAD YOU WILL BE BETTER OFF BUYING A NEW MONITOR)

IF you do find the power control board replacement and get it to work i think you would have better results spending the same amount of money on a new monitor with all new parts plus warranty

32" Sceptre LCD No POwer

0939a31.jpg This is the same problem I am having with my Speptre X20WG Naga Monitor.
The power LEDS are usually red in standby and blue in opp; but now they just go purple and nothing happens..no sound no picture. I called tech support and no dice they just wanted my money, but I think all we might have to do is change a fuse on the main pcb! As you can see the white arrow isnt really pointing to anything specific! I think the fuse is the lt blue component, but am not sure. This is all I can offer! If you gat any good tips or if anyone else finds a fix please email me [email protected].
Thanks! and good luck m007!
