Am using LG X120 computer and i recently installed windows 7. new windows for my computer and i can't seem to find my webcam..but when i go to facebook i can take photos and post them on the wall..now i dont understand where the problem is at..please help..thank you in advance....Faith

Step 1:
If your computer is 6 yrs or older it might not support windows 7 also you will need a minimum of 1 GB of RAM for 32 bit or 2GB of RAM for 64 bit to install windows 7 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows7/products/system-requirements

reinstall ur operating system

1.Check that your webcam is switched on and is connected to your computer.

2.Close all programs that may be using the webcam. These include video editing software, instant messengers (such as Yahoo Messenger or Windows Live Messenger), browsers, Windows Explorer, and even some websites.

3.Make sure that both you and the person you are video calling are using the latest version of Skype, Yahoo Messenger..

4.Make sure that you have the latest version of Microsoft DirectX. For Windows Vista and Windows 7, you can get the latest version of DirectX by updating Windows with the latest service packs and updates. For Windows XP, you can download it here.

5.Check that your webcam is listed in Device Manager
Do one of the following:
Windows 7: Click the Windows button and select Control Panel.
Click Hardware and Sound and under Devices and Printers select Device Manager.
Click the little arrow beside Imaging Devices.Windows Vista: Open the Start menu and select Control Panel.
Open System and Maintenance and click Device Manager.Windows XP:Open the Start menu and select Control Panel. Open System and in the Hardware tab, click Device Manager.Under Imaging devices, check that you webcam is listed



If it's not listed, reinstall the drivers for your webcam.
A driver is the program you install with the webcam which makes it work on your computer. (Some webcams use preinstalled drivers so you may not have had to install one.) Make sure you have the most recent drivers for your webcam by downloading them from the webcam manufacturer's website.

Your camera is compatible with Microsoft Windows 98/ME, Microsoft Windows 2000 / XP.
Please, contact manufacturer to provide you update if available, and only then you can use it with Windows 7.
Also try Windows 7 forum and support.

If this is not your model or you have a different computer, please provide the model number and I will get you to where you need to be.

Hi lionking2022!

Since this is a USB CD_ROM, you need change some settings in the bios for it to be detected and the system will actually boot from it.

1. You enter your BIOS

2. Look for the tab that will contain IDE settings

3. Change it to AHCI

4. Save and Exit

You may know try to boot from cd-rom and install your windows xp.

After the setup or installation is finished don't forget to changed it back to SATA or whatever the setting was.

Not sure but you can use your original install disc and if that doesn't owrk you can got to cnet downloads and see if there is a new driver download there for the device that is compatible with windows 7.
