I have had two bleach dispenser valves fail in the past two years on my Neptune TL washer. They simply won't dispense the bleach from the reservoir. Is there any underlying problem that may cause this failure?

Maybe the water channel leading to the dispenser valve is not aligned......lid bowed? See Pic

""I have had two bleach dispenser valves fail in the past two years on my Neptune TL washer. ""

Describe fail......did you replace the valves or a repair service?

If you did the work what troubleshooting did you do on the valves? Did you check for 120VAC applied to the valve in Service Mode? Maybe the relay that applies 120VAC to the valve is not functioning or working intermittently........see pic of schematic of Control Board K3 is the Bleach Dispenser relay that applies 120VAC to that dispenser valve. Is it working 100% of the time? If not it may be a Control Board or connector issue ......but you need to troubleshoot.

Did you power up your old dispenser valves with a 120VAC cheater cord on the work bench to verify operation Open/Close?

I'm an owner not a appliance repair tech but have a electronics technical background.

I have owned our washer for seven years Why doesn't the bleach dispenser empty?

is it a front loader or top loader? what is the model number? normally you have 3 or more water inlet valves 1 for cold water, 1 for hot water and one for either fabric softener and or bleach, id say (without any specific info) that it is simply a jammed/faulty water inlet valve, or if its a front loader you often get this problem if the water pressure isn't high enough to create the siphon in the dispenser, i dont know why they set up the softener dispenser on front loaders as a siphon when the pre and main wash just wash through normally

Whirlpool washer model wfw9150ww01 won't dispense bleach

My guess is that the valve that pushes water into the bleach compartment has stopped working. It should be accessable from the top. I have some maytags similar to your machine that i have to remove the front panel to remove a couple screws to lift the top like a car hood. Not sure about your machine though.

I have a Top Load Washing machine from Maytag, and it is a Neptune. Not entirely positive if it is the same model as the FAV6800AW. I have a load going right now so I don't want to check. Anyway,...

The Bleach dispenser valve may have failed.

Are you into to troubleshooting the issue?

If so I will help. Check to see the washer top is not bowed downward at the Console loaction. If the Pic come thru make sure the water channel on the left side of the lid lines up with the left side (bleach) dispenser valve I'll post a pic but lately the picks won't be displayed. This forum is difficult for DIY support.

If the pics don't come thru Google Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW post in the Maytag washer part of the forum for support my time is free as an owner.

Bleach dispense doesn't work

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today. This model has a valve used just for the bleach dispenser. Depending on your serial number it is a whole valve assembly or a separate valve for the bleach and softener. But pretty sure your going to have to replace it.Just check for voltage at the valve assembly to determine which one.
Thank You and please rate my answer if it was helpful..

I have no water to fabric softener dispenser I

Google Neptune TL Washer FAV6800AWW

You can get the FAV6800A/FAV9800A Service Manual and get into Service mode and turn on the Cold Water Inlet valve and the Fabric Softer dispenser valve and see if water flows to the Softer reservoir. You may need to replace the dispenser valve.

Pic below. Post in the other forum it's easier to work the issue at a true DIY forum.

Softener or Bleach will not dispense. Any idea how to fix this problem? I have Neptune TL washer FAV6800AWW.

For the FAV6800A or FAV9800A:

If you have no water flow to the Softener dispenser or Bleach dispenser see if you can turn the dispenser valves on Service Mode and verify water flow to the reservoirs.
Enter Service Mode (page 14 of the Service manual) by Pressing Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys (simultaneously) for three seconds or until the console beeps.

Now go to page 16 to Service Manual and enter Board Output Test by pressing the Delicates key. This will lock the lid. Now press the
Wrinkle Control Key Pad on the console. The Control Board will send 120VAC to the Fabric Softner dispenser water valve. Did you hear the Solenoid hum? If so and you have no water flow diverted to the Softener dispenser the solenoid valve may be stuck closed. If you did not hear the solenoid valve hum the solenoid field coil may be open or loss of 120VAC from the Control Board to the valve. Do the same for the Bleach Dispenser Valve.

Final technical troubleshooting as a technical owner of the machine would be to take my DVM and verify 120VAC from the Control Board to the Bleach dispenser valve.

See page 36 lower left hand corner is the Bleach/Softener dispenser valve.
Here is the Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

The Part Number for the Dispenser Valve is 25001043 you can order from this site or find best price. Before I would order any parts you need to isolate the fail point, this could be a Control Board issue or machine wiring harness issue.

Did both reservoirs stop flushing contents at the same time or different fail dates?

Fabric Soft and Bleach despenser on MAYTAG TL FAV6800 won't drain

I'll see if I can help. Can you just clarify if by won't drain. Does it look like no water flow is flushing the the Bleach and Fabric Softener dispensers?

The Fabric Softener dispenser could be clogged but I suspect the dispenser’s valves are not opening to flush the dispenser’s. If the Fabric Softener dispenser is clogged you can flush with White Vinegar solution and clean exit port with a pipe cleaner. I do not suspect a clog with the Bleach dispenser.

You could go into Service Mode and turn on the water valves for the dispensers to check if water is sent to the dispensers.

If you have no water flow to the Softener dispenser here is the non technical troubleshooting I would take. Go into Service Mode (page 14 of the Service manual) by Pressing Enviro Plus and Spin Only keys (simultaneously) for three seconds or until the console beeps.

Now go to page 16 to Service Manual and enter Board Output Test by pressing the Delicates key. This will lock the lid. Now press the Wrinkle Control Key Pad on the console. The Control Board will send 120VAC to the bleach dispenser water valve. Did you hear the Solenoid hum? If so and you have no water flow diverted to the Softener dispenser the solenoid valve may be stuck closed. If you did not hear the solenoid valve hum the solenoid field coil may be open. Do the same process for the Bleach dispenser water valve with Bulky Items Key Pad.

Final technical troubleshooting as a technical owner of the machine would be to take my DVM and verify 120VAC from the Control Board to the Bleach/Fabric Softener dispenser valves.

See page 36 lower left hand corner is the Bleach/Softener dispenser valve.

Here is the Service Manual for reference. Sears Parts Direct for reference.

The Part Number for the Dispenser Valve is 25001043 you can order from this site or search the internet for best price.

Good luck…….Rich

Maytag neptune TL

The machine needs to cut you a break;

“”i have a maytag neptune TL and there are several things wrong with it...1. I can't wash small loads it will stop at the spin cycle and flash dc””

This issue is a clutch issue see this post to DIY the repair.

“”it will wash fine on regular loads until it comes to spin cycle again and it will stop and flash nf””

This one is a little confusing the “nf” error is a No water fill error code. Check these two post for support regarding water inlet restriction or valve not opening properly.

nf post nf post 2

“”my fabric softener dispenser will not let the softener out neither will the bleach dispenser””

See this fabric softer post for support. The fabric softener dispenser may be clogged or the water dispenser valves feeding both dispensers may not be operating properly. The Service Manual on page 16 “Board Output Test” will give you support to turn on the Fabric Softener Valve and Bleach valve. See if you hear the valves operate in Service Mode”

My method may seem a little confusion for viewing water flow to the dispensers. This issue could be associated to the nf error you are receiving, restricted water flow (inlet screen clog) or cold water valve not working properly.

Post back for any questions or possible support I can offer. I’m an owner like you not a repair person but I’m very comfortable working on this machine. Rich

I have a maytag neptune TL washer. The last few washes, the fabric softner and liquid bleach do not empty in to the wash...they just remain in their dispenser. Can you help?

it could be mold.

try pouring bleach in each compartment and running it twice like this

and once after with no detergent bleaches or anything, just a normal wash on hot

this should help, if not u have to either clean the dispenser or replace it.
