Here is the complete service manual for your washer. It will show you how to dis-assemble the agitator as well as any other repairs that you may need in the future. Be sure to save a copy!

I had something wedge in the agitator and cause the machine to stop performing

sounds like you blew either a circuit breaker in your home or on the rear of the machine

Washer wont spin....it agitates and drains but wont spin when it gets to the spin cycle. timer still moves.

Tough to say without doing some testing. First thing to check is the coupling. It may sound like its agitating and may not at all. IF it really does agitate and won't spin, I would start diagnostically testing the timer. That isn't something your average homeowner can do though.

Washing machine GLWS1649ASO wont spin on spin cycle. motor and pulley turn, but belt doesn't move. Is it the belt?

no it will not be the belt more so it will be a bad transmission.or something stuck under the agitator i have seen drill bits and keys get stuck under the agitator and cause the transmission to stop
remover the agitator first and check it is there is nothing there the transmission needs to be replaced

see the motor drives the pump, but if it is clogged, the motor will not turn.

I have a Whirlpool Washer Model LXR6232EQ0. Yesterday something happened after it drained during the rinse cycle. It wouldn't spin. It makes a noise like the moter is trying to spin but there is a slight tinkle once in a while. Could it be the motor coupling or do you think it is the clutch. The agitator doesn't spin at all. does it have a belt?

Agitation issues. Everything else appears/works normally.

I just encountered the same problem. I think the operation of the machine is such that the motor turns one direction for the spin cycle, and the other direction for the agitate cycle. I am replacing my motor, as I think i have a bad winding on the reverse. I will let you know.

Drum spinning during wash cycle

if when in the wash cycle the tub spins then the brake in the cluch assembly is worn and to be replaced. this holds the tub from moving when in the wash cycle. thanks tallpaul

Agitator moves slowly on wash cycle/not at all on spin cycle

it sounds like the dogs are worn. try twisting the agitator post by hand,it should move freely in one direction then lock up going the other.its a pretty easy fix if they are.pry off the top of the agitator post off then remove the cap inside, there is a bolt that holds the post down.i'm pretty sure it's 7/16 in. once the bolt is loose, lift the whole agitator out of machine and with your hand inside post turn it upside downand let the dog holder slide out.watch how the dogs fit into the holder, replace with new dogs and reverse the removal process.
if the machine wont spin, check the lid switch. thats usually the cause of a no spin situation.other than that a wet vac is your best bet.hope that helps.
