HP 6110 and Vista

Does anyone know if or when HP will make the 6110 compatible with VISTA? I have no way of checking the ink levels, since the Manager will not work with VISTA. Thanks.

    With Vista I am unable to determine ink levels in the cartridges.

    it worked ok for a year or so then when one o my cartridges needed replacing problems arose. because there's no proper driver I can see ink levels or get troubleshooting info. I now prints one line per minute and i' ready to throw it out the window

The last driver available for your device is compatible with Windows XP 64 bit . Some options like ink level controls could be missing under Vista without preventing your printer from running normally.
Find a way to test it under Windows XP .

You need to install the software or utility that came with the printer that is compatible with windows vista. Download it from Dell website.

Unable to check cartridge ink level on new computer.

i think the problem is on that software.pls check the software cd or DVd. if it is fully compatible with windows vista.

Can't find tool box to check ink level - HP 6310 using Vista 2007

doesnt matter most printers have a feature of their own to check ink levels.
press the setup button on the printer and scroll down(with the arrow buttons) till you get tools press ok and now scroll through until you get ink level and select it by pressing the ok button,walla you should have your ink levels in front of you.

Now about the hp solution centre/hp director icon on your desktop (if you have installed the software).
Click on settings and click on printer toolbox and now check your estimated ink levels it will show the ink levels of the printer cartridges.

hi you can try to run the windows vista compatibility wisard in the control pannel, if it does not work it means that it will not work.

HELP VISTA DONT LET ME ADD THIS PRINTER

HP doesn't have a new driver, however, they say Vista will recognize it and they provide workarounds for you to print and scan.

Here is the support page for your 6110:

6110 Vista Setup

You will need to uninstall any software you have already loaded and delete your printer from the Printers and Faxes section of Control Panel before following the procedure.

Scanner will not function

See this info re vista driver, not needed for 6110xi and advance features no longer available.

Your disks I don't think will help, looks like it is case of Not fully vista compatable, there are also issues relating to your old HP Director software ie...

"In October 2006, Microsoft released Internet Explorer 7. The HP Director software that shipped with some HP products introduced between 2002 and 2004 may not be compatible with Internet Explorer 7. The HP Solution Center software, which replaced HP Director software, does not exhibit this issue with Internet Explorer 7."
