Hi and welcome to FixYa,
I can not insert the symbols here to properly answer your question so, I found the manual and you can read the steps on page 9 here:

http://awadnahas.net/pdf/UserManual/bf7e9e9b-cc9e-46fc-94a7-5965a2d61b18.pdf

This is copy and paste from the manual and the symbols will not come out:

Switching off the child safety device

• Start the hob with ( ' ). Do not set the heat settings . Touch for (Up arrow) 4 seconds. The

symbol ( 0 ) comes on.
• Stop the hob with ( I )

The symbols I typed above are not 100% as they appear in the manual.
Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Hi, my mother has a Schott Ceran induction hob. It's very good but occasionally randomly locks itself and we cannot find a manual to tell us how to unlock it or locate the model number.

The reference to Schott is the maker of the ceramic glass. The label identifying which brand and model number will be located on the base of the cooktop.

If the cooktop itself randomly locks itself, it would most likely be related to the touch panel and the sensor plate that would require replacement.

The lock would be the child lock, and usually holding down the key symbols for a period of 5 secs should remove the lock.

Child lock turn off

For the Candy CH642B cooktop:
LOCKING BUTTON OPERATION
The locking function prevents the children from starting the hob. It is also used for cleaning the control strip as the controls can be locked without the hob being on.
To lock the hob :
- Press the on/off button
- Press simultaneously " - " button and " + " button of the front right zone (CH 633 front left zone), and then press again on the " + " button of this zone.
When the hob is locked, the locking indicator " L " is displayed on all zones for 20 seconds.

To unlock the hob :
- Press the on/off button. The locking indicator " L " is displayed on all zones.
- Press simultaneously the " - " button and the " + " button of the front right zone (CH 633 front left zone), and then press again on the " - " button of this zone. The hob is unlocked.

All-Lock

If you enter the "Clean mode" then wait for between 2- 2 1/2 hours the lock mechanism should release. I'm not precisely sure of the time allotment. Use caution, the oven gets very hot and could cause you bodily harm. Thank you, Dana
