Question about Vizio 42 in. LCD TV

1 Answer

Hello, pretty simple probably. How do I use the entire screen for the picture, I can hardly read the news scrolls that come at the bottom of the screen cuz of the 3 inches of black border all the way around the picture. I have time warner cable if that matters

I consider whether to use a news app or to read the news byh surfing to a regular news site. What's better?

Seems like a lot of effort is put into creating apps that do pretty much the same as a mobile website. Who wants 5 different apps for reading news? Why not design good mobile websites? I prefer a standard browser, where I can switch between different publications

Sounds like you didn't use the "safely remove hardware" command located at the bottom of your computer screen. If you reset your camera, it will probably work again. Go into the menu and scroll to "reset" and follow the on-screen instructions.

Can't read stuff at bottom of screen

it is possible the picture format is set to stretched. look for a button on the remote that can do this. it could also be the signal. try looking at a different channel that has lettering along the top and bottom and determine if the entire picture looks like it needs to be moved up. if after all this you can still determine that the picture is misaligned post the model number and i can help you move it up.

Hi Abidann,

What operating system are you booting up ? If it is Windows XP you can press F8 during the boot up sequence. A new menu should pop up. Select the 'Safe Mode' option and hit enter. You should then see lots of lines of white text scrolling up the screen pretty quickly, this is the operating system loading the system files. If you get this far, it's good news, and you've probably only got a corrupt registry hive which is fairly easy to recover from.

If you don't even get this far then you may have a dodgy connection to the hard drive that stores you operating system. Check in your bios to ensure that the hard drive is still being detected. If it cannot see the hard drive then either a cable has come loose inside your computer, or the hard drive has failed and you will need to get a replacement.

Fingers crossed it is the first problem though!

Picture size won't fit screen. Can't see scrolling text at bottom (e.g. sports scores on ESPN)

hi there,

its probably not the tv but the set top box you need to fix. go to the settings and select the mode you want ie. widescreen 16:9 etc

then go to the tv and select the full mode or widescreen mode at 16:9

that should solve your problem. it takes some time to find the combination between the set top box and the tv to get it right

good luck
