I have a Whirlpool gas dryer model no. GGW9868KQ3. My problem is when you press any touchpads on the control panel nothing lights on. There is power going in to the control board. Do you think it's a control board problem? If it is, how do you isolate it from the conrol panel ( touchpads )? Thanks.

Your model number does not appear to be a valid or complete number, there should be a key on the panel that shows a little lock, this key should be pressed for about 3 or 4 seconds till the lock indicator goes out. Pleazer Appliance...

What is the model number? Look inside the door jamb.

Do you hear a loud buzzing? That would indicate a stuck motor. If you hear nothing, you could have a burnt temp fuse, which is in the motor circuit. Of course, there could be a loose connection anywhere in the circuit which would take time to find.

The controls can be easily locked or unlocked by pressing and holding the following button on the front panel:

Whirlpool Duet Washer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.

Whirlpool Duet Dryer - Press and hold the END OF CYCLE SIGNAL button for 3 seconds.

Kenmore Elite Washer - Press and hold the DRAIN/SPIN button for 3 seconds.

Kenmore Elite Dryer - Press and hold the AUTO DRY LEVEL button for 3 seconds.

These instructions may not be all inclusive for all Kenmore and Whirlpool models, but they are the most common. Chances are, if you have a Control Lock feature, the instructions will be printed on the front panel adjacent to the button that is required to lock or unlock the controls.

NOTE: These instructions may also work for newer model Maytag, Hotpoint, Admiral and Fridgidaire model front loaders as well. Refer to your owner's manual or front panel for instructions pertaining to your sepcific model.

You need to press and hold the "End of Cycle Signal" button on this model to lock or unlock the control panel. The instructions should be printed directly below the button.

could be a bad capacitor inside the dryer

On Duet models, Press and hold the End of Cycle Signal button for three seconds. This will turn off the Control Locked feature.
