Hi, Based on your post/description, it appears to be a hardware issue. Check that you have a 300watt PSU (or higher) preferably with 24 pins (ATX v2.x). Perhaps you can try to do an R&R, remove and reinstall everything especially the power connector, memory and video card (if add-on). It may also be worth your while to reset the BIOS/CMOS to default and try again. If problem persist, then perhaps it will be to your advantage to have the motherboard replaced. Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turn up or should you need further information. Good luck and kind regards.

All you need is the hard drive manufacture's setup software. Flashing you're bios is not the answer. On each drive (SATA & IDE) is the name & model number. Go to the Mf's site & download the free setup software, tools & utilities. Most sites will list software you can download to creat a bootable floppy disk or software to creat a bootable CD. Run the software on the SATA drive. Than unplug the SATA data cable & connect one IDE at a time. Again down load the Mfg's setup software. Do the same for the other IDE. Disconnect the data cable for the IDE drives. Do a fresh install of windows. (DO not allow windows to format the drive)! Just install windows & the motherboard drivers. Than update windows. Durring reboot press & hold the power on button on the PC untill it powers off. Connect the two IDE drives. Check the pin settings on the IDE drives. Set AS; Primary IDE drive 1 as master with a slave. Set IDE two as a slave drive.
Check the bios Boot setting. Make sure the SATA drive is listed in the boot order. Save & exit the PC. Windows should boot just fine.
Good Luck!
Still have an issue, post the trouble here with a description.

SOURCE: PC keeps freezing on boot up
Let's narrow the problem down a bit. The biggest clue will be "where" it hangs in the boot process.
1) During (or before) the POST (power on self test).
This would signify that you have a hardware issue. Often, the system will beep at you, and you can decipher those beeps to figure out the problem. Some things that will cause a freeze here are your video card, RAM, the CPU, or even a fan (especially the CPU fan).
a) Video - if you are seeing anything on your monitor, it probably isn't video. If not, replace the video card (if using the onboard video, add an outboard card. If using an outboard card already, then swap it out with another one, boot, and see what happens.
b) RAM - swapping out chips is the only way to test it, unfortunately.
c) CPU Fan - Eyeball it and see if it is spinning. A fan failure will instigate an immediate shutdown, to prevent the CPU from burning up.
d) CPU - Another tough one. The only real solution is to replace it with another one, and see if the system boots.
If it seems to be none of the above, it may be the motherboard itself that has an issue. Once you try all of the above, you can be more certain that it is indeed a bad board.
2) During Windows startup.
This would mean you have a Windows problem. Often, a new driver or some new piece of software can alter things enough to cause a hang. Attempt a boot in safe mode (which loads only default drivers), or even restore the OS to an earlier point. If you get a BSOD (blue screen of death), you'll want to look for the error code on the page, as it will at least give you a clue as to where the problem is. Another option is to boot from the Win Install CD, and effect a Windows repair. This will fix an awful lot of problems.
Cheers
Nick

Hi there is a peice of software that you can download.Do a search for Belarc and opt for the free version form the website. When installed it gives you a list of virtually everything on your system, including the key for your operating system and any other software.when viewing the results, look at the part that says MAIN CIRCUIT BOARD.Then go to the manufacturers website and download the appropriate drivers. I hope this helps you.
