Have you connected it via Ethernet and installed the software on your office's server? If not then you will have to set it up as a USB or parallel on one pc and then all the other computers on the network will have to print to the IP address on the network of the PC it is connected to and then set up each machine to access that printer.

Can't install hp 1320 printer

Hi downward_man,

Here's the instruction on how you will install your HP Laser Jet 1320 Printer:

1. Access the HP hardware support site to retrieve the HP LaserJet 1320 driver download.

2. Click the link that represents your computer's operating system.

3. Scroll down the page, and click the "Download" action, below the "Driver - Universal Print Driver" table. Opt to save the driver, as the download file has the setup application that is needed to install it.
4. Double-click the setup application's icon from its new file location on your hard drive. The HP installation application will open automatically.
5. Click "Next" to proceed to the first installation steps.
6.Select all of the HP recommended installation options, and click "Next" to begin copying the driver's files and components to the computer.
7. When the HP installation wizard asks, plug the HP LaserJet 1320 USB sync cable to the USB port, located on the back of the printer hardware. Connect the other end of the cable to an open USB port on your computer.

8. Click "Finish" to complete and conclude the HP LaserJet 1320 series driver installation process.
Hope it helps.

Can get this pirinter to work on my brand new computer after one week of attempting to do so. Gateway passes the buck to HP who passes the buck back and since Microsoft was installed by Gateway they

Your usb2.0 to parallel cable might be incompatible. If you have usb port on your printer use it. But check if this is really capable of doing that. Example even the straight thru usb to ps2 doesnt work as expected, there something some communication capability before it can run.

Here a manual for printer you can check it.

HP Laser Jet 1320 Printer installation SPAM BELOW AT 1*800*532*4187

Just downloading the PCL5 driver was not enough for my computer. Maybe it is enough for other users' computers. But in addition to downloading the drivers, i had to also download and install the "HP Laserjet 1320 plug and play print driver solution" at the bottom of the driver list. Save the file to your desktop, double-click it and follow instructions to install, then reboot. Then when I checked my printer list, the HP Laserjet 1320 was there. I printed a test page, and now i am good to go. Hope this helps.

Conecting an older HP parallel printer to a new computer

Better if you get USB HP printer to use with it. The only way to use that what you have it to get a printer server that supports parallel cable and connect the print server to your router using Ethernet LAN cable.

HP Laser Jet 1320n series

The HP LaserJet 1320 has a USB port and a Parallel port.

The HP LaserJet 1320n has a USB port and an Ethernet port.

USB-to-Parallel converter cables, like this one, are designed to attach a parallel device to a computer's USB port.

But you need to do the opposite (attach a USB device to a computer's parallel port). A USB-to-Parallel converter cable will not do this.
